it's getting darker

Nightmares are dreams too

Although Ainaz did not fling herself into battle against him as Druna would have done, she still manages to stand her ground. To stare him in the eye and will her voice to speak with defiance despite the fear made from self preservation. As he sees the tremble ripple down her body, Garmr knows Ainaz has come to the realization of what was happening, and that it had nothing to do with Fall.

Tell me I’m wrong she challenges, but Garmr cannot say that she is. He had found her fascinating, even though she had never once chosen to change her view of him. Perhaps it is the bravery that draws him near to her, and to Druna, that no one else had shown.

A war of thoughts flickers in Garmr’s eyes, and he lowers his head and juts out his nose as if he will bite her. Lips peels back, showing his blunt teeth, before he snaps them closed with an audible sound a hair’s width from her skin. The aggression, the excitement of her fear, the darkness that had overcome him; it is hard to get under control. He still wants to feel her delicate form beneath his power, to leave the lasting marks of bruises and bites upon her flesh like he had punished Druna with. Though he doubts she would be the kind to come back asking for more.

“You do not want adventure.” He accuses, his voice somewhat returning to normal, but there is still a graveled undertone that suggests he could just as easily return to what he had just wrestled himself free from. “You do not chose me.” Not that he would expect her to. He was a monster as much as her jailor. She would always try her best to escape from him, and he would never expect anything else but her loathing in his presence. “You come to me for nothing.” Garmr snarls, though his hooves remain planted where he stands. He had left her alone among the swamp because he was too selfish to let her go, but somehow felt it was mercy not to force his presence on her again since the Ruins. But Garmr could never say such things; admit such things. It would be too weak, it would have too much feeling that he didn’t understand.
