a burning eye in a lifeless sky

If Akkadian had developed a more prominent ego, he might have been annoyed at the emergence of the second stallion. His nose twitched as Kade eyed the chimera, tangerine eyes narrowing. Was he familiar somehow? Orange-toned orbs flicked between the silver male (the assumed leader of Paradise) and the newcomer.

While the Paradise lead doesn't seem keen to have the other male here, he doesn't move to oust him either. Had Kade felt more comfortable in the situation he might have smirked or laughed at the obvious sarcasm. Instead, his mouth does little more than twitch as the men exchange words. The leopard two-year-old, distracted from the question of familiarity, focused upon the silver buckskin when he turned back to answer Akkadian's question.

From the lead's response, it seemed Lucifer had done a few things lately to make him doubt the draft. More importantly, to be confronted with the lurking question of whether or not Lucifer was going to stay here unsettled him. The young male hadn't anticipated possibly having to leave so quickly, should Lucifer try and take him along to wherever the black was settling next.

With a cold self-assurance, Kade deftly squashed the assumption and unsettled emotion it had stirred. He was not bound to Lucifer or anyone else unless he decided it. Momentarily dismissed from the Paradisian's focus, Akkadian decided to relax in the moment and be glad he was not considered a threat. It would give him a moment to think of a way to navigate this conversation.

Akkadian's citrine gaze wandered back to the chimera, giving him a puzzled look when the male named himself Asmodeus of the Shore. If memory served him well, they had had a neighbor on Salem with the same name. That had been before he'd been told about the deal with Lucifer, before he'd been distracted with training and saying goodbye.

An ear twisted slightly as Kade realized that the chimera's scent was what had been familiar a few moments ago. He'd scented the stallion on the borderlands often enough; there had just never been a face or true name to pair with the scent. The bay roan decided to remain quiet for the moment, waiting to see how this Asmodeus would respond.
