Rain In A Summer Storm (Nico) Posted on April 14, 2025 at 02:41:58 PM by Raini
Raini pulled herself from the water, glad to be back home. She was normally a very mild mannered mare but had been so angry and worried when she was stolen Annubis had definitely seen the worse side of her, a side that didn’t come out very often.
Shaking her coat out she looked around worriedly, both glad that Tino wasn’t waiting for her on the beach but also worried about where he was.
Turning to Nico she gave him a tired smile, it was amazing how much stress and worry could zap your energy thank you she said quietly, gently rubbing her head on his neck in affection. Oh she knew she didn’t need to thank him and she never once thought that he wouldn’t stop trying to get her home.
I knew you would get me back home, never had a doubt she told him confidently. I also never doubted your ability to keep Tino safe, I hope you know that she said before sending out a call for her son. She had no delusions to think he had coped with her loss well, they’d never been apart before, which might be odd for most young yearling colts but after being on the run for 9 months and it just being the two of them she was struggling a little to let go, the same way he was struggling to give her space.
They would have to work on that, before the new foal arrival, that thought made her smile, she knew Nico was already an amazing father and she suspected Tino would be a good big brother, he’d probably teach them how to get into trouble.
(I thought i'd post just raini at first before having Tino come in) Replies:
