The more he watches her the more he could see that her innocence was still in tact. It appears her mother had been here long enough to protect her or perhaps no one has shown interest yet. Maybe she has just been a good hider so far. Has her luck ran out? Probably, but he didn't plan on making it any worse for her. If he had the power he would try to help her safety last longer, but alas.
