A deep and baser part of the stallion was thrilled to feel Parvati react so keenly to his physical attentions. Though much time had passed since they'd last laid eyes on one another, the tangible attraction between them had not dimmed. A fact which pleased him greatly. The sense of satisfaction that had curled within the bay's mind was further fed by the smile curved deliciously across the mare's lips at his compliment of their daughter. It fed his over-sized ego to see the painted female so contented with the child he'd given her.
"Tell me Carthage do you still own some space in the Badlands? You could always join me here..." The dark bay turned his head toward her. A warm chuckle thrummed once more in his thick throat. "I do," he answered. The stallion's voice full of a dark amusement, practically purring as he felt her lips on his ear. The champagne mare had tried to tempt him before into coming north. And if he had been a different, less-established male, perhaps he would have taken Parvati up on the offer. Even if he did dislike the cold after living so long in the tropics.
However, the dark bay knew that was a move he would not make, not unless they were more on equal footing. Carthage was a prideful and territorial male. To be anything less than the lead of his own band was unacceptable. And while he greatly disliked not being an outright ruler, the brotherhood the bay had forged with Sigurdr over the last few years had lessened the blow to his ego. Moreover, the friendship had been worth putting off searching for a territory of his own. It didn't mean Carthage wasn't planning on making moves..
His face tilted sideways and dipped low. Carthage extended his maw to nibble affectionately at the point of the mare's shoulder. The reconnaissance the male had been doing these last few weeks were likely to pay off soon. In all likeliness, it would be alright to reveal some of his machinations to Parvati. He wouldn't though. Life had taught Carthage to count on himself, not the promises of others. Their connection was new and untested. As such, he would reveal nothing yet. He could still play along though..
"You're also welcome to come south," the bay teased rakishly, raising his head to lip playfully at the mare's cheek. "I'd make it worth your while."
