The diver mandate if hampering the applications. You can get your Padi but need t be an endorsed city diver to go to the squad. Problem is they don’t hold any classes and if they do it takes forever to get into one. That’s if you can get the medical section to get you in for a physical. It’s set up to fail. What’s funny is the squad openings are being staffed by firemen currently. So why not just let guys put in make them become divers within X amount of time or hold padi courses though the department and let Lock oversee the program. You pass his course viola you’re a city diver. Far too much emphasis on dive when it’s a very small portion of what they do. More focus should be on recruiting guys with experience in busy companies that have experience. Replies:
