Listening to him with her thick tail slowly twitching against her hocks, Dreamer let her ears twitch as well before a deep sigh escaped her lungs. “Where are you other herd leaders Nicodemus?” She finally asked, her head tilting again before she dropped the clover. She should not be asking this question, but she could not help it. “You are not the only leader here, are you?” After that question, Dreamer looked down to her hooves with her ears slightly twitching back against her head.
She had to stay quiet for a bit unless she wanted something not nice to leave her lungs, but she managed. Dreamer was a gentle soul with a mild temperament. She was no fighter and never would want to be one. However, Nicodemus led this territory with only his shoulders. She could see it from a distance and it bothered her. He should be having help, but he wasn't getting a lick of it. The herd here was safe because of him… but what of himself?
Finally, letting the silence stretch long enough, she lifted her soft eyes back up to his own. “You shouldn't have to protect everyone, yourself included, on your own.” Licking her lips then, Dreamer let her eyes convey some of what she was feeling inside. “You can only do so much, Nicodemus. It might be time to look at who you have in rank and dig through your members to find better people that are more suited. I am not trying to step on anyone's toes… but I have only seen a one man show since I was brought here.”
