The warm and carefree days of summer were behind them now. The days are steadily getting shorter and there is a chilly edge to the breeze that runs through his black mane. Ashitaka stood on some rocks looking out towards the ocean. His emotions mirrored the choppy waves. He had heard rumours that Asmodeus had returned and reclaimed the Shore. When he had invited Cursed Dreams to come live with him in the Inlet it was under the agreement that she could go back to the Shore if her old lead returned. He knew that she didn’t particularly like the colder climate on Tinuvel but, in his opinion, she had settled in well. She hadn’t caused them any trouble like she feared that she would. And of course he very much enjoyed her company.
With a deep breath he turns his back to the sea and starts to head inland looking for that familiar near white form. It’s possible that she didn’t know Asmodeus had returned and therefore she could leave this iceburg. If she did know then she would have probably left by now. Ashitaka could easily keep his mouth shut and that way he might not loose her. But he is a man of his word and he will uphold the promise he made. Besides she would probably kick his ass when she found out that he had been withholding information from her. Which wasn’t as bad as telling a lie but it was still deceitful.
When he finds her he nickers in greeting. He smiles warmly at her though she might be able to see a mixture of hesitance and sadness in his brown eyes.
“Hello Dreams, how have you been?” Although he wants to get to the point it had been awhile since the pair of them had caught up. Mostly because his son had been demanding a lot of his free time and attention. And if she did decided to leave he wanted to enjoy one last chat with his gutsy little fighter.
