During the day, sentries guard the sleeping. When the sky is dark and the moon dances with the stars, this is when the real fun begins. Munashii Gekko's forest is the only haunt where you can find your local misfits all in one place. A land of the forbidden and forgotten, a place that is riddled with dangers of a whole different kind. The wolves here have long misplaced their rightful minds, and now live like creatures damned to prowl and lurk through the night. It's easy to lose yourself here, sanity was sure to fade away and wither; there was never anything normal about this nefarious nest. The silent threats that whispered in the breeze were enough to deter even the largest of demons around. It was not strength nor wit that ensured your survival here with Eric, and challengers would be torn down with a morose lethality - there was nothing left in his cold blue eyes that promised mercy to anyone who dared to overstep their worth. So, would you give up the sun for the moon and stars? Do you have enough vigor to become a well regarded sentry? - Put on a game face to step up and pass the sepia king's test or turn and leave before he catches your scent. You never know who wants to snack on your delicious blood in this forest.

Fear. It was coursing through the young pup's veins like fire, increasing by every second that ticked by in utter silence, slowly rising past the red line that marked the panic stage. Unfortunately for the pup, the smell of fear on him would only make his scent more prominent to any predators or hostile wolves that might be lurking about. The thought made him curl tighter and press his face into his bushy tail. His entire gray form was quaking so violently it looked as if he were being shaken by an earthquake. Equinox was all gray but for a black stripe that ran from the top of his head to the tip of his tail and so camouflage was not his best skill. His auds were constantly swiveling on top of his head in every direction and even the slightest noise made his head snap up even though he would not be able to see the source anyway. His nose twitched constantly, testing the air every second for smells of a creature's approach. He smelled the wolves coming long before their light footfall reached his ears and he realized that the had found himself on a pack border. He wanted to get up but found himself paralyzed and unable to move. All he could do was wait. Wait for the certain death that was leering it's ugly head in Equinox's face.

There were two wolves his nose told him. One male, one female and they were the wolves who's scent lingered faintly on the invisible line that marked the pack borders. As the sound of rustling leaves came right from a few feet away his heart began to thump so loudly in his chest that he could hardly hear the she-wolf's words.

Hey there.

She didn't sound like she was about to rip his throat out but that didn't bring him enough comfort to uncurl from the shelter of his tail fur.

You okay?

Equinox was rather surprised by the soft tone in her voice as he heard the fae take a few steps toward him. Oh how he wished he could see what her expression was. Still, there was something in her voice that made him peek out of his fur with one eye even though he knew all too well it wouldn't make a difference. His eye was milky white and it was obvious that he was blind. After a few minutes of silence he thought that perhaps they weren't going to kill him. Yet.

I....I don't...No..

He spluttered, tongue tripping as the words passed from his maw. Great. Now he seemed like a coward and an idiot. But the pup couldn't think about that, his mind was filled with horrific visions of wolves with twisted faces, pearls flashing close to his neck. Waiting, one eye still peering sightlessly out from his bundled form he waited for one of them to say something.
