His behavior caught her off-guard. He was pulling away from her. So, this is what it felt like.. They were so alike in that aspect. They were both better off alone. And yet, Shadow wouldn't leave. She couldn't leave him when he was right there before her. Her family had been but a pleasant memory, it had been so long so it wasn't like they had been real anymore. But seeing him now, here, it made the idea tangible again. She had children, and they were real and she would find them all.

She sighed softly as his words came to her. A dream. Yes, it did seem to play out that way. But, she wasn't a monster in her dreams. In her dreams she was happy and all her children were there and LZ.. No. This was no dream, and she wanted him to see that. But, she didn't dare go near him. She didn't want to send him running. It hurt enough to watch him back away from her advance. Her heart could never take it if she scared him off. She looked to the ground, so unsure. What could she possibly do to make him understand that he was not dreaming? What could she say to make him see that he was fully awake?

She whined. So conflicted, so unsure. She decided. Steady, she moved towards him. She had to touch him, she had to make him see. She paused for a moment, she didn't want to frighten him, but she had to make him see. She came to rest near him, nudging him gently with her muzzle. "Deku, my love, this is no dream." Such softly spoken words, but she hoped he would realize they were true. She pulled away from him with effort, moving back to give him space. Her cool gaze always on him, studying, curious, hopeful.
