At the densest section of the forest, there is a brief clearing where a steady flow of water streams down the slippery stone staircase. The water here is cool and refreshing. Staircase Falls has been rumoured to be the place where reality is met by magic; where peaceful spirits dwell. They are rumoured to have healing powers that are used to help the desperately hurt, though no one has experienced this, except for, perhaps, Kaive.

OOC- Feisty one she is. Looks like Amatus has got his work cut out. She’ll calm down soon though.

It didn’t seem long before the safety and peace of the hide-out was disturbed. A figure appeared at the mouth of the den. He was about the same age as Yoki but he was naive and pompous and incredibly annoying as he placed half of his bodice in the make shift den. By the way he spoke he was some sort of royalty; a pretty little prince thinking he could just do whatever he wanted; but he was in for a reality check. She wasn’t just some loyal subject who would roll over and submit to him, No! Yoki was more the girl that would kick his little royal butt if he fluffed her off and right now that was what he was doing. Usually the lass would have submitted and tried to keep quiet. She didn’t want to aggravate any male, that lesson had been learnt many moons ago, but he was different. He didn’t look harmful or even sound it and she was sure that he was too stupid to even think about harming her so instead of being quiet and obeying she opted for the defensive route.

Who the hell did he think he was? Bursting into her private safe place, demanding to know her name and telling her that where she had chosen to sleep wasn’t good enough. A growl was starting to grow in her throat; he was really starting to get on her wick. What was his problem? What did he care about where she slept? Her hackles rose immediately as he began to laugh. She couldn’t see anything funny about the situation at all. He was like an annoying itch that no matter how hard you scratched never went away. Even her silence didn’t prevent him from trying to make a very dull conversation and no matter how far she tried to shuffle away from him he just kept coming, finding any tiny thing to talk about. He carried on unaware that he was really winding her up and that any moment he was about to get a slap right across the muzzle. Errrrrrrugh! Why couldn’t he just leave her alone? Yoki clearly wasn’t interested in his ramblings but he persisted never the less and the huntress found herself slowly blocking out the annoying noise.

Once she was completely out of it she took the time to stare at the itch that had invaded her hole. There were so many colours on his pelt that Yoki found herself trying to count them. Black, ginger, brown, white, it looked like a rainbow had thrown up on him. He was all the colours she wished she was rather than the boring black that covered her bodice. He was- although she quickly washed the thought from her mind- sort of handsome. The lass was intrigued by his multicoloured pelt and followed the array of colours up his chest and towards his eyes. Those eyes..... Much like hers but brighter and full of life, not boring and dull, but gingery like the sunset. His soul was pure and kind yet irritating and arrogant and it was obvious that he had had a very good life, never having to lift a paw; being waited on by every single member of the pack. He was a Prince after all.

Suddenly the garbage talk of the brute started to intrude on her dreams and she zoned back down to earth just in time to hear him assure her he was no danger and nothing but a teddy bear which admittedly made her chuckle. Once again he told her his name again and shuffled out of the den to sit on his haunches with an odd look on his face. What was she going to do now? It looked like she would be stuck with the itch for a while, so she might as well try to be civil... Try being the key word. “Listen here you arrogant little punk.” The words came out as a snarl, piercing and sharp as she slinked to the entrance of the den, teeth bared and claws unsheathed. “I’m not like your loyal subjects wherever you came from. I will kick your royal backside if you try any funny business with me. You got it? You’re not in your perfect kingdom with your perfect life anymore, this is real life and you’re going to fall to earth with the biggest thud if you don’t change.” Yoki sat on her haunches quite proud of herself for standing up to a male, even if she didn’t really need to. Perhaps she had been a bit harsh on him; after all he was only trying to be nice. Her tone was softer now and friendlier. Her maw parted to give a half smile and her claws retracted. “I’m Yoki by the way.”
