During the day, sentries guard the sleeping. When the sky is dark and the moon dances with the stars, this is when the real fun begins. Munashii Gekko's forest is the only haunt where you can find your local misfits all in one place. A land of the forbidden and forgotten, a place that is riddled with dangers of a whole different kind. The wolves here have long misplaced their rightful minds, and now live like creatures damned to prowl and lurk through the night. It's easy to lose yourself here, sanity was sure to fade away and wither; there was never anything normal about this nefarious nest. The silent threats that whispered in the breeze were enough to deter even the largest of demons around. It was not strength nor wit that ensured your survival here with Eric, and challengers would be torn down with a morose lethality - there was nothing left in his cold blue eyes that promised mercy to anyone who dared to overstep their worth. So, would you give up the sun for the moon and stars? Do you have enough vigor to become a well regarded sentry? - Put on a game face to step up and pass the sepia king's test or turn and leave before he catches your scent. You never know who wants to snack on your delicious blood in this forest.

a small touch of happiness

Kobato had given up on Serryberry finding her. As a pup, nearly making it to her full first year of life, Kobato was becoming more and more rowdy. And she was growing. Though not by much, she was still growing- to a point. Her fur was becoming more fluffy, though that could be just because of the winter time that was approaching hastily, and that meant that her puppy cloak was becoming more... insulated. She looked like a walking puffball, at least to those who saw her during the summer, when she just came back with tears in her little audettes, a scratcha 'cross her narettes, and missing fur on her ribs. She'd gotten caught up in a scuffle, but it was all healing up and growing back quite quickly. Still, it was sensitive to the touch, the marks on her narettes, so she hadn't been able to rub her sensors up against Serris' as of late- even though she knew he didn't like it... but that was Kobato for you. Always happy, smiling, optimistic, and on the bright side.

Hopping along now, she was caught trying to climb a tree. A small aspen, as it were, that had its pale branches too high up off the ground for her to even think about sitting in, but her claw marks were all over it. Just as she lurched up again, biting her lip hard as she bounded up, claws scratching against the frail bark, she caught a scent she'd never smelled before. And Serris... he was busy with someone else! Dropping to the ground in a hurry, and doing a weird side somersault before bounding off in the direction of which the two colognes were coming from. As young and optimisitic as she was, Kobato did not necessarily worry about the horrors of strangers... you think she ought to have learned her lesson when she got hurt a few months past, but no... little Ko was as happy as ever. A light filled her amberish-chocolate optics and she sped across the forest floor, stumbling a few times (a natural thing for her), and nearly faceplanting in the process. As she came within visible distance of the boys, she slowed a little but still came crashing in front of them, sliding on the fallen leaves as she did so. And then she crashed, tumbling away from the duo. A spectacle to see, no doubt about that one. But she came back up, popping her little apex up, and her expression seemed to shout, 'I'm alright! I'm okay!' She trotted back over towards them, taking in their appearances with an open mind. One, the one plopped down on the terra was pale, like snow- not that Kobato had ever seen the frozen substance, but she knew what the clouds looked like, so perhaps that is better. The color of a cloud. His eyes were pretty, but Kobato tilted her tiny dial at the milky coloring of them. Was he okay? And the big one... OMAHGOSH HE LOOKED JUST LIKE SERRYBERRY! Except his eyes were a golden-sage... something Kobato had never seen...She cleared her throat, arched her tiny tail over her spine, copying just what Serryberry usually did when he saw new people on the border of the territory and she gave both of them a VERY serious look... which is scary because Kobato is NEVER serious.

I am Kobato! Princess of Munashii Gekko! Submit and show your gullet! She couldn't hold the excitement in forever, but knew that if she didn't...well... perhaps they would not do as she commanded? What would Serris say then?! Kobato did not fear being scolded by him, as she knew he would not kill her... and that was a lot to say for the big meanie. The tiny hint of a smile peeked out of the side of her kissers, and she struggled to make it disappear, however she swallowed it down and her tassel, now given energy, began to wag a little. Of course, she was in no way related to the alpha, Serris, but she followed him around everywhere, and knew what he did at the borders because of her attendance to him everywhere. Her princess talk was because of a game she had played with Serris earlier... when he was trying to get her to go away... he told her that he was a King- and she, being a tiny squirt, automatically put herself in the place of princess. It had stuck like glue.

Alas.. she could not fare well without laughing, and a very little-girl-like giggle bubbled out of her maw. Life was but a game to this little orphan, and her wish, in order to be granted, required making others happy... She'd learned extremely early that you cannot grant anothers wish by frowning... and that others had a more open mind if you were smiling all the time. And because of this... little Kobato glowed with happiness.
