During the day, sentries guard the sleeping. When the sky is dark and the moon dances with the stars, this is when the real fun begins. Munashii Gekko's forest is the only haunt where you can find your local misfits all in one place. A land of the forbidden and forgotten, a place that is riddled with dangers of a whole different kind. The wolves here have long misplaced their rightful minds, and now live like creatures damned to prowl and lurk through the night. It's easy to lose yourself here, sanity was sure to fade away and wither; there was never anything normal about this nefarious nest. The silent threats that whispered in the breeze were enough to deter even the largest of demons around. It was not strength nor wit that ensured your survival here with Eric, and challengers would be torn down with a morose lethality - there was nothing left in his cold blue eyes that promised mercy to anyone who dared to overstep their worth. So, would you give up the sun for the moon and stars? Do you have enough vigor to become a well regarded sentry? - Put on a game face to step up and pass the sepia king's test or turn and leave before he catches your scent. You never know who wants to snack on your delicious blood in this forest.

Others were already in the clearing when the little angel arrived. Her chocolate and caramel optics swiveled all around. The only one she recognized and knew the name of... was Serris. Ko's teenage years were arriving... and not knowing her own birthday, she would just have to make one up. It wouldn't be today. Oh no. Definitely not today. Not when she was in a melancholy mood, which was quite rare for the little youngling. Desert rose audettes pricked up at the sound of conversation from newcomers and...well... Kobato, hesitating in the frigid morning atmosphere, stayed glued to where she was on the frozen tundra, hidden from view of the King. He had made her cry last time she saw him. And although she was starting to understand that some soul's just couldn't have their wounded heart healed, she still bore the tenacity to stand up against that sword with a small knife of her own. Happiness, though it was pressed to flow, slid onto her being, emanating like a wonderful perfume from her pelt. And then, she came crashing in, panting dramatically as if she'd been running for a while. A lie... yes, a lie, to make things easier to understand despite their obviosu simplicity.

However, little Kobato, as tiny as she was, did not stop there, dirt flying up around her as she swiveled and dashed towards the demon from Hell's depths. No, no, my friend. She did not stop until she was glued to his left front pillar... but even then, it was clear that her enthusiasm was a little off. Hoepfully, though, he wouldn't pick up on the small rise in her body temperature. With winter on her way, fever was most definitely prominant within the little ones. And Kobato, although she was Kobato, was no exception to such things. But.... she probably gave it away more than she had intended to. Her breath was ragged and rushed, a little offbeat from her slow and steady pulse, her pillars were darkened with small amounts of sweat and her eyes screamed for rest. Early morning, young pup? Not a good mix in the first place, but here she was... the little one who just couldn't be shaken. Breathy words, slurred somewhat from the approaching cold that was inevitable for her to catch, fell into the silence. Serryberry! She looked up, tired eyes boring into his own electric blue seas, though they probably weren't paying any attention to her. And why should they? She was but a nuisance, something that was like a bur in a cowboy's chaps, right where his calloused hands couldn't reach under the leather.

The truth? It would have been a good thing thing to share. But he, as mentioned before, was most likely not paiyng any attention to her. And this is when the little boy who cried wolf would have been screaming for some serious help from his friends. So Kobato waited a short while, no longer sticking to his leg as she had been in the first few minutes of her arrival. Serry...! She put her forehead on his "knee" and closed her eyes, waiting for her turn. Roni came in next, and she nodded to the Alpha, and Kobato watched with tired pools as she sat down on the tundra. Once more, the little one attempted to grab the black soul's attention, only this time...she used his true name, something she did not normally do. Perhaps it was a hint to him, in case he had not realized it, that she was not in her normal mood. Serris... I don't feel so good... She whispered every single word, so that only he could hear her lyrics. No need for everyone else to know that the little candle was being teased by a soft wind that would most definitely evolve into a full-fledged tornado. Also... Kobato, who had always used her name as a replacement for "I" had done the opposite. A feat that was worth marvelling at for those who knew her or about her.

By now, the little one had lowered herself at his stance, lying underneath his mass with her feminine head on her dainty little paws. Waiting.... waiting for the sun to come out and bestow it's graceful rays upon her shivering pelt. Morning had never seemed so cruel to the little princess... but, with her first winter approaching... it was destined to get even worse.
