The forest stands tall and lush here; ancient trees reach weather-twisted arms to the sky, fighting monster-like storm clouds back with their interlacing fingers. Shadow seems to lurk everywhere you look, but it spills calmly, coolly, inspiring a sense of stealthy calm or protection rather than unease. That is, if you've forgotten what kind of creature might be stalking just out of sight...Abendrot is a land cradled by the dark woods on all sides; in the center, some of the larger trees stay behind to reveal a small plateau - a citadel where this pack can gather and defend itself from invaders. There are, of course, softer sides to the land. Clearings here and there allow the sun to throw down its rays in incongruously resplendent gold showers. Ignore the lingering scents of blood spattered here and there along the borders: those do not concern you. The river on one edge of the territory is playful enough when it hasn't been gorged by violent rain. You can choose to note the ragged claw marks raked down tree trunks and the forest floor as friendly "Home Sweet Home" signs, if you wish.

All who treasure loyalty, order, victory, and the occasional indulgence of raw visceral pleasure are welcome, once they've been approved by the ever-watchful eyes of Abendrot's Alpha. But keep one thing in mind: no matter what your motive, this is not a fool's Paradise. This is the land of soldiers, assassins, and spies. This is ABENDROT.

Make up your mind quickly and prepare to prove your worth. You wouldn't want to add to those blood spatters, would you...?

Carmen had followed the icy boy to this point, as was probably just as anxious to get past the border.

A light snow was starting to fall as she approached him, once again stalking up from behind like a predator. A slippery smile spread across her lips, and there was a touch more of a sexual sway to her hips as she moved towards the grounds. The memory of the time she barely escaped getting reported as having been on the grounds drew its self up before her eyes, and her grin broadened.

It had been a hot summer night, a year or two ago, before she knew whose land was whose. She had been looking about for a place to keep herself for the night, and was surprised to find a stretch of seemingly disused forest. So she had claimed herself a small spot under a boulder and curled up. She awakened to a massive brute standing over her, blocking the sun so she couldn't see any of his features. He'd snarled threats and death penalties as she'd stood, but seemed momentarily taken aback as she flirted shamelessly. He'd nearly gotten him self straightened out again when she had suddenly jumped on his back, and after a good deal of squabbling, knocked him out and ran.

Thinking back on the encounter, he must have been very new to the pack. She would never have gotten away if it had been one of the more powerful wolves of the pack.

But she reverted her mind back to the present. Here she stood, in the snow, before the same grounds. She would have grinned but broader, but she was one of them who had a composure to keep, so she drew it back into a sly, but also simply murderous smirk. She looked once again up to the leader of their posse, and read that he clearly hadn't seen her there yet.

Hola, Hermano de hielo.

She had taken to calling him that, and by now he must understand that Hola was just a simple hello. But she wondered if he would ever understand what she called him, Hermano do hielo, or brother of ice.

She shook the snowflakes of her burnt pelt, so she seemed to hot for them to stick to. It would kill her firey soul to be covered in snow, nevermind being seen covered in snow.
