It had been a long voyage. Apache had went all the way from the very west of the canyon area to here. He had learned a lot from his voyage, including a reminder of the weakness of the other packs. The main thought that plagued his mind was the thought of the new pack that he was to join under Sulan's rule. Sulan and Apache could easily work together to raise a pack capable of destroying the lesser packs.

The forests seemed to fill up the canyon completely, other than a few clearings, some caves, a lake, and a river, which were the only things that Apache had discovered other than forests. With no luck in finding any recruits for Sulan's new pack, Apache finally hit the end of the flat ground: here was the first ridge. Apache looked for a less steep ramp upwards, and once he had found it, he moved up. He could barely move forward before he found himself in a clearing. This clearing was giant, with few trees here and there. There was another ridge nearby.

Apache moved forward into the center of the clearing, his pale blue eyes scanning the perimeter. He began to look at the ridge for a proper ramp to get up. He found it, but just above was a large oak tree. A wolf lay beneath its shade. Hello! Apache called, trying to be friendly in the looks. He wanted to be convincing. He then went up the ramp, and soon was standing in front of the wolf. The name's Apache. What's yours?
