aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

Magic’s mate introduced himself as Unmoglich, with Glitch as a nickname. Kalgalath smiled, understanding the need for a nickname. Most of his own friends tended to call him Kal for short, for his own name was so uncommon and strange. The brute continued on with his monologue, expressing his feelings about his and his mate crossing the boundaries unaccepted, causing Kal to continue smiling. He dipped his head to the pair. Their reluctance to cross the boundary was respectable, and the grey brute found himself liking these two strangers already. They seemed honest, and would probably make a good addition to their pack. Kalgalath’s icy gaze glanced over the brute, but his eyes didn’t linger upon the deformities of the brute. Instead, Kal looked the other male in his eyes. If the brute could move around and compose himself as a respectable wolf, then he was a better lupine than many that Kalgalath had met in the course of his life.

Kalgalath’s twin towers swiveled as Chiron addressed the two newcomers and introduced himself. The grey brute found himself reevaluating Chiron, silently reprimanding himself for judging Chiron so quickly without knowing him first. Kal’s gaze paused upon him. In addressing the strangers, he had been polite, but then had stepped back respectfully for Kong’s introduction. Kong’s first words are to Kalgalath, his words are encouraging, saying that does not doubt either Kalgalath himself or his capability, and that in Kong’s eyes, Kalgalath has proven himself. Kalgalath feels a swelling in pride, the compliment meaning a lot coming from Kong, who he has respected for years. "Your words mean a lot to me, my dear friend. " Kong’s attention then switched to Zig, thanking her for the support and then explaining that he does not want the title. Although his answer is simple, Kalgalath keeps his gaze fixed upon his friend. The answer was vague to say the least, and Kal wonders if something else had happened when Munashii Gekko fell, something that Kong had not told him. It did not bother Kalgalath that Kong had not told him anything, but a sudden rush of sympathy ran through Kal for his friend. Kal’s plume swishes upon the ground as he thinks about what may have happened to cause Kong to refuse the throne. The grey brute quickly shakes his head though, not wishing to intrude upon Kong’s secrets. Should Kong want to talk about it ever, he knew that Kalgalath would be there for him. They had been for friends for too long for Kalgalath to ever judge him or think ill of him…

His focus snaps to the present as Kong’s voice comes back to his auditories. It is Kong greeting and accepting Magic and Glitch into the pack. Kalgalath smiles… they will make good additions to the pack, and Kal finds himself making a mental note to get to know the pair of them better. Kong then announced to the pack Kal’s nomination, and calls to see if any others will step forward and run for the position. Kalgalath’s icy gaze looks at the surrounding terra. Though it still looked barren, even the arrival of these two seemed to liven up the terra.

Suddenly a feminine call cuts its way through the air, asking for permission to enter the terra, and Kong’s answers it quickly, his own deep voice inviting the fae into the pack lands. As Kalgalath waits to see the response from the other pack members, he glances at the lupines around him. He catches Chiron stretching, and notices the hint of a smile upon his maw. Just seeing the brute stretch makes Kalgalath realize how tight his own muscles are from sitting at the pack meeting, so he follows suit, lifting his bodice off of his haunches and leaning back, his front claws reaching out and his spinal cord stretching. A rush of relaxation runs through his veins, and he settles upon his haunches again.

Just then, the fae, supposedly the one who called out from across the pack border, appears at the edge of the pack meeting. She smiles at each wolf, and then moves forward, bowing before Kong. Kalgalath smiles, though his smile freezes halfway upon its making her scent reaches his nares – she has a pack scent upon her, and it isn’t that of Aurora Borealis. The fae introduces herself as the Gamma female from Saw Tooth, saying that she has business with whoever is granted the position of Alpha. She seems honest and straightforward; respectable. Although he will leave it up to Kong as to whether she shall be permitted to sit in upon the meeting, for in his eyes Kong still is the Beta, Kal decides to introduce himself to the fae. “Hello Kori, my name is Kalgalath. ” He dips his grey maw in greeting, and turns his attention to Kong, waiting for his response to her request.
