News - SUMMER

Summer has arrived. The world has been well at peace, and others seem to be trying to take advantage. They believe we are lazy and complacent. We are no such thing. Remain vigilante, friends and family.

Give your congratulations to Maiko. She has been promoted to Blizzard; she earned it.

We also have an activity check going. Please reply so I can make adjustments accordingly. Check will go for an entire month so we can hopefully capture everyone.

As always, if you have need of me, do not hesitate to find me.

shiver my timbers, shiver my sides
yo ho, heave ho
there are hungers as strong as the wind and tides
yo ho, heave ho

He comes with an entourage, mistrusting the safety of even himself within the stewardship of Diveen. His brother had died trusting them to be safe within their walls and Weylin would not make that same mistake. He brings his Queen, leaving Ravan and Jaye otherwise in charge of the place they called home. If the rest of his group here was needed, Salem and Seven were more than capable of racing to get him. Why Ravan and Jaye? Because his most trusted people have followed him here. He does not know how he feels about being called to come to her, as though it is some sort of concession or obedience, but the thought of Selene with child and having to travel makes him less prone to hesitation. He can agree he would be most upset with her leaving on some diplomatic mission if she was burdened with his heirs.

His black coat is shaken as the group of them reach the shore of Diveen's side of the mainland. The salt he is accustomed to in his coat may not have lasted the swim, but his scent is awash in the aroma of his packland. He smells of sand, of salty sea spray, of grass and the vast forest of Glorall. He smells of Fenrir and a woman of Nanrua. He smells of Bahamut, of Jaye, of a princess of the savage blood of another place. He smells of himself, of pine and foreigner wildlands matched with the scent of the forests of Scotavia unforgotten. These things combine, tell any who smell him that he is Weylin, Nanruan and Moladian, King of Glorall. He stops as they come ashore, pausing just at the outer limits of no mans land before the line of Diveen. He waits in silence. It has not been long since her call had come to him and he is of the mind that she ought expect his arrival promptly. He wonders if Sulan ran to his motherland, if he ran to the arms of his true masters.

He wonders what his Uncle would have spoken of him. He had seen the look that crossed his face, as if Weylin was something to pity - or at least that was what the black male had seen. Hardly. Sulan had begun as blatantly pitying and condescending and had lost - Weylin wonders what that has conjured for Sulan's opinion, for what he will tell others of Weylin in return. He lifts his muzzle, scenting. He cannot scent the male, at least nothing decisive with the sea and his men already so close. Sulan had lived long enough in Glorall, and well - if Weylin was honest - Sulan could have gone elsewhere to lick his wounds, even if it was unlikely. He looks to Selene, sitting and murmuring to her as they awaited Diveen to notice they had visitors. “Selene--” He starts, his eyes softening quite suddenly as he tastes her name on his tongue and realizes it is far too foreign. His heart clenches, convulsing around the anguish that little thing brings. “We must speak of much when we are home.” And to keep himself hardened, to keep the righteous anger and sharp-as-a-tack determination, he turns away again.

He cannot afford to melt the way he would if he would contemplate her now, he cannot afford lessening the righteous indignation and raw heat of his disdain. He gave them this much, this coming when she called her invitation, but that was the most accomodating he was willing to be in light of the particulars between him and this place. Badlands, he knew. Badlands and plateaus, he did not understand the allure of the deserted and rocky landscaping. Where were the moss beds, the miraculous plants for healing, the delicious water springs, the moist air of the coast? The plateaus must be too high for the winds to bring the scent of the sea inland. Pirates in a desert, he chuckles deep and bitter. Funny that they would taken out of their element. He looks to the side where Natalya would be, keen to know how she would respond to being so near the home of her imprint - the man whose blood was spoiled, rotting itself out from the inside. It was tainted, diseased, a leprosy in Moladion and Weylin feels sorry that she would feel even a shadow of what Finley must have felt. Rejected foolishly by a man who had neither honor nor sense enough to do right by the woman who he was supposed to live for. Weylin flinches at the thought and again his eye is drawn to his pale gold queen. Had he not failed to live for Selene? At least he was a man, made it right. Would make it right for as long as he lived - and it would not even take longer than the month that passed for Weylin.

He looks then to Pan, Brother of his Heart. He has not taken the time to keep up with the boy become man. He looks him over for signs of worry, for anger, for anything Weylin can use to determine his mind on their mission here. He waits for Pan to catch his stare and then nods to him in acknowledgment, and then a flick of his eyes point him to go and keep Selene company in a way he cannot afford to in the face of those who he must show a strong and unyielding face. He knows that Pan and Selene are close and it soothes him to think she has not been too terribly alone while he was busy building a world for her or protecting her from the side of him he could not imagine she would accept. She was a wild woman, but she was not Nanruan and he did not trust that she would accept that part of his heritage if she saw the hate he could harbor, the damage and heinous things he had done, could do. Violence was his birthright and in Moladion, you cannot be so without earning some sort of blemish against your name.

Lastly he looks to the two healers that he had called along with him. He stays entirely still as his eyes shift from one to another, eyes hooded and for once entirely cagey in countenance. He does not dare show more than he must and surely they are near to discovering that Glorall has come to call - if they did not know by his call to these here companions to follow him. Ajax, his ill fated son. The poor boy had been injured - taken care of by his deranged brother, and then Weylin himself had needed to take the life of his own brother and Ajax's first adopted father. His eyes shift to D'Mani. She was a mystery to him, cold and calculating. He saw worth in her, a determination for success and learning. He also saw the dangerous detachment that came with her. It is why he plans to test her here, to put her through the fire like a swordsmith beginning the work on a fine blade. Finally he stares ahead, ears perked and attentive. He will know when they come before they reach he and his people, he will know and he shall be prepared.
