It was about morning, the sun leaking through the trees and shining its wonderfulness down onto the trees, grass, backs of everything in Blossom Forest. It was time for another day to begin, and that was what it was planning to do. Robins chirped their way out of their nests to feel the warmth of the sunshine on their feathers, feel the way it hugged and kissed them in every way that was delightful. Sunkissed. That is the word that best fits with this scenario. Squirrells jumped down from their nests inside the trees and started to hunt for food before the eagles and hawks came out of their nests, which would not be long at all. It was practically delightful for every being and form of life that thrived and festered under the sun. This would prove to be a gorgeous day, driving the bigger animals to hit towards the waters. However, it was just a cool morning. Maybe it the late 50s(OOC-yes, where I live, that is colder weather, maybe on the colder side. To you people out there who live in Florida or one of those southern states, yeah, sometimes it gets really cold). The point was, any animal should make the most of this wonderful morning.
A lupine was trying to stay in the close shadows, trying to run from the light without actually running. This lupine was mostly used to the shadows and the darkness of the night, the way the moon shined down and reflected a silver pool of everything divine. See, even it sounds eerie and relaxing now. Yes, this lupine, a vixen, had lived in the shadows her whole life; prowling around, not trying to be evil or creepy by ANY means. Oh no, this vixen was not like that to the tiniest bit. She had tasted the sunlight when it wasn’t so bright as it was at its peak, in mid day, and she kind of liked it. Yes, she had liked it and wondered why she hadn’t discovered how...
warm it felt during the day. Warm; that was the right word. Yes, she vowed that she would get to know the sun better, and maybe they would become a little better than acquaintances, maybe a little less than friends. Her love for the moon would never overlap anything the sun had to offer.
And now, I bring ourselves to the present moment. This lupine of the dark was trying to ease herself in towards the light bit by bit, trying to be easy and submissive. The jet black vixen was trying her best, and some could say she was making progress. She layed a pad in front of her, then another, and soon her head and some of her body was under a gap in the trees and exposed to the brightness of the day. She opened her amber pools slowly, the light blinding at first. She squinted, and it made the area a little easier to deal with. She opened her eyes, and tried hard to force them open. She was doing it, and she was proud of herself.
A half hour or so passed, and soon the vixen had half of her body laying under the sun with half of it in the dim light between the trees. Her ears were twitching, and she squinted her eyes shut as she layed on the ground. This rehab was challenging, and she was struggling with it. Maybe something needed to happen so she could get her mind off of it. As if on cue, a howl rose into the air. Before a single second passed by, the lupine knew that these vocals belonged to her leader, Kalgalath. She had been with him recently, beating him to a loner willing to join, being asked to feed a pup that was nearly dead himself, and even having a conversation with him to try to get to know him better. They had cut that time much too short, and it would make the fae smile if they picked up with it again. Her ears twitched as she listened to the howl, raised her head so her eyes were still in the shadows while the tip of her maw and nose were dotted with sunlight. She perked her auds to the contents of the howl, and wasn’t surprised when he had consulted to have Kong come join him on the matter that was at stand. Something that wasn’t her business, she was sure. She layed her head back on the ground, and listened to the rest of the howl, because how can you not? She jolted upright in surprise, hearing what seemed to be her name in the howl just like Kong’s. Was there a trick of the wind? Were her auds playing tricks on her? Was she sure that she heard her name?
The vixen was sure that Kal had called upon her, but why? Of course, this had everything that was on her mind erased and trashed, due to the curiosity at hand. She rose from the grass and dirt she had flattened with her weight, and journeyed through the sunlight to reach her leader. Every step of the way, she had wondered why he had called on her. Surely it must have been a good reason; that was almost self explanatory. The lupine stretched from bramble to bramble, trying not to snag her pelt but doing anything about it to the few thorns that were caught; they were noticeable, and that was all that mattered. Soon enough, Kal’s scent drifted through the trees, becoming stronger now that he held more pride and power. However, she did not smell Kong’s scent, but instead another wolf, a fea by the looks of it, and she had the taste of another pack on her pelt. Having not reached them yet, she couldn’t be sure which one it was.
She heard the end of his lyrics through the trees, demanding the intentions of the wolf in a short of frazzled way. She wondered why, but dismissed the thought, knowing that she would have the answer soon enough. She broke silently through the treeline, looking to Kal then at the fae, who was maybe a little younger than herself, as she walked into a small clearing right on the border. She looked up, and made eye contact with the femme, and she would not let her eyes off of her. She looked her up and down before looking to Kal.
" Hello.” She tried her hardest, but couldn’t make anything else pop out of her mouth; what else was she supposed to say?
