At the densest section of the forest, there is a brief clearing where a steady flow of water streams down the slippery stone staircase. The water here is cool and refreshing. Staircase Falls has been rumoured to be the place where reality is met by magic; where peaceful spirits dwell. They are rumoured to have healing powers that are used to help the desperately hurt, though no one has experienced this, except for, perhaps, Kaive.

Trying to Forget the Past, This Was Never Meant to Last

The fae let the words tumble out of her mouth, waiting to see how this wolf would react to her calling him Lucien, still assuming that she was mistaken. Chenzii had given up all hope on ever seeing her beloved brother again, but yet here was this wolf that resembled him down to the last hair. After asking the brute if he was indeed her long lost brother, she heard him breathe out her name quietly, “Chenzii”. The femme saw Lucien’s blue eyes light up as he said her name with more intensity, “Chenzii!” With that word, Chenzii knew, she knew this wolf was her brother Lucien. Somehow, someway, they had found each other again. After all they had been through as pups, Lucien had found Chenzii, and she never thought she could experience joy the way that she was experiencing it now. She felt her heart swell inside her chest with the happiness that only her brother was able to bring to her.

Before Chenzii could reply, Lucien made his way over to her quickly, nuzzling into her shoulder as he had done to her when they were pups, even though he was bigger than her now. As she breathed in his scent she heard him say, “Chenzii, Chenzii, Chenzii. Do you have any idea how much I’ve missed you.” The black furred fae nuzzled her head back against Lucien, breathing deeply through her nares to absorb his familiar, yet somewhat different, scent. “Yes, Lucien, I do. I have missed you in ways that only you could understand.” Chenzii didn’t realize how much she had truly missed him and needed him until this moment. Feeling Lucien’s pelt against hers again brought back all the memories she had suppressed after they had lost their mother and pack. Chenzii forced her mind to stop going back to those dark times. She knew that as long she and Lucien were reunited that they could have a happy future together.

As Chenzii felt the familiarity of her brother she wondered what had brought him to this area and how long he had been in Blossom Forest. Perhaps he had joined a new pack like she recently did, or maybe he was a loner which would suite his personality more. She knew that they would have plenty of time to catch up on what they had missed in each other’s lives when they were apart. She spoke again, having to chose which of the many questions she had to ask him first, “So how did you find me here brother?” She hoped that her brother had other ties in Blossom Forest and was not just passing through and planning on moving on. Chenzii knew that she wanted to try living in a pack again, although her brother was very different socially. She knew that she could not bear to lose him again and that she would go with him wherever he went if he would not stay in Blossom Forest with her.
