To be honest, things weren’t bad around Munashii Gekko. A first? Not exactly, but close to it. Even Serris was feeling less stressed. In his defense, things had been going well. Ranks were given out, which had been a long worry on his mind, and Devil’s Angel had returned. In a pack of new faces, it was good to see a constant like her.
Despite, there were always things to make him worry. Kobato was still gone, and no explanation presented itself for her disappearance. It was a relatively old matter, sure, but that was one scar that would not smooth over. Next, Devil’s Angel was still wounded, although her progress had been steadily better. The two siblings in the pack still concerned him. And lastly, there was Alleria... he was still mashed up inside from his little missing daughter, and now this femme was intent on doing the same thing. Why did he detect a pattern?
A slight rustling and the faint sound of voices shook Serris out of his light snooze. He rolled lazily over, hair catching on the brambles of the bush he had nestled under. Long, lean pistons stretched away from the brute’s main body, his side still lying on the leafy loam. A small grunt escaped his throat before he fell silent, the voices now stronger and the wolves were approaching his hidden position. The first bit of lyrics he hadn’t managed to catch, but this one word he heard quite clearly, although he couldn’t place the owner. An intruder? No, this lady smelled of the pack, and of... Aindreas. He took a moment to isolate the male scent that also approached, finding it to be the grumpy male he had met at the border before. Oh, so this was his sister? Either that, or a wench he had brought home. Serris chuckled silently.
They seemed to be travelling the lands together, sharing a tense conversation, but before Serris could get a good look at the female the duo stopped in their path and left Serris without any view of the pair. Lovely, now he’d have to move... The dark titan silently rolled back over and crept out of the bushes, shaking his fur to dislodge any stowaways. He began to pad closer, his pace slow but steady. They really weren’t having the juicy conversation he had been hoping for, but he still caught what little they had been speaking to eachother. The mistress didn’t want to talk about something, he was able to hear that much. Not that it really mattered to him what they were saying, he was a shameless snoop and quite the experienced eavesdropper. Another sentence he missed as he focused on his silent footwork, and then silence engulfed the three. Ah, sounds like my queue, thought Serris, a smirk slipping onto his features.
His entrance was neither swift nor slow, an average little entrance that suited the regal just fine. Before he uttered a word he took a few precious seconds to scan the pair, matching scents to faces and whatnot. The male he already knew from their little discussion at the border, but this female was practically a stranger to him. Her pure white countered his pitch black, and although the air was tense he could sense the trust and the love between them. Oh, how sweet. It was like something out of a fairy tale, one where the two fated siblings came together to conquer evil and spread love throughout the world. He rolled his eyes in disgust. Let’s just say the King wasn’t a fan of happy endings. Still, his look complete, Serris proceeded on to words.
“How touching, the brother and sister pair reunited at last.” The sarcasm in his tone was obvious, the devious glint in his eyes reflecting the true words. Old Serris was back and better than ever. “But you see, I don’t believe you’ve ever been accepted into these lands, little miss." He paused slightly. "I think we’re both smart enough to know what has to happen next.” He muzzle dropped slightly, pupils sliding near the top of their sockets as he kept a steady gaze on the femora. He wouldn’t be the one to compromise, that was for sure. Serris shot a quick glance to Exodus, letting him know that he was being watched as well. Was the little old Alpha being too tough on his beloved sister? The smirk of Serris’ lips grew in anticipation.
Ah, it was good to be back.
