aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

Great! You know Kally was the one who actually showed this place to me, and it’s also where I met Tyson. He’s a little pup, full of beans; cute… And with that, Leila had taken off, leading Hellene to the lake, explaining the body of water along the way. It’s more a river than a lake. It’s opposite of Romance River, you see… Hellene said nothing along the way, still surprised at how good of a relationship Leila seemed to have with the Alpha. His words of warning were still ringing in her heads; still fresh in her mind. However, it was perhaps best that she didn’t speak, for the dark fae picked up the pace and led her through a myriad of obstacles. The pair had leapt over a few of the logs, crawled over a few others… the path was far from easy. But then her paws noticed a difference in the footing beneath them – the muddy earth that had been formed by the recent storms disappeared and instead soft silt took over. Her amber eyes raised upward and looked around. Here we are.

Hellene switched her gaze to the femme and noticed her smile and her chest heaving, as Hellene’s own chest was doing. The increased pace had been a good workout. The dark femme approached the water and drank, and Hellene followed suit. The cool liquid was refreshing, rewetting her dried tongue and rehydrating her system. The russet and grey femme realized that she could not remember the last time she had had a good long drink, so she cherished the lake water. River water. Whichever it was.

I like it here a lot… you said you loved swimming? Is that something you do often, then? I haven’t been swimming in a long time. A smile crossed Hellene’s maw and she nodded. “I do love swimming, but I haven’t swam in a long while either. The last time I swam was at Leisure Lake, with a teen named Aurora. She… well she took me by surprise. Could you believe that she swam underwater for lengthened periods of time? It was not anything I had seen a wolf do before.” Hellene sighed. That had been her one adventure without her sister, and even that had been short lived. The teen had ran off, and Hellene had returned to the Spring Grounds pack alone and had remained there alone, awaiting her sister’s return. But her sister had never returned. So here she was now, lonely. But the water was her release from all of that.

Hellene turned her gaze back to the water, a devilish smile growing on her kissers right before she leapt her form into the water. It wasn’t frigid – it was cool, certainly, but it was refreshing. The fae rolled in the shallow water before swimming out to deeper waters, each kick stretching out her limbs and working the muscles. Her eyes gleamed as she began to swim back to shore, focusing upon the darkened femme, wondering if she was going to join her in the water.
