Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

"Rhae," Iblis said, caressing each syllable as they left his mouth. Her name was more beautiful than the star filled sky and her voice sweeter than any honey. She was perfect in every way and to Iblis she could do no wrong. He watched as she bowed to him and he could no longer hold back. Filling the gap between them, he used his muzzle to gently lift her head high above his and smiled at her. "A queen does not need to bow before her knight, my lady." Though he could smell no pack upon her fur Iblis knew Rhae was a queen to all and thus should be treated in such a way. As their fur mixed together, Iblis felt his entire being shuttered in sheer joy and longing. Her sandy colored fur was as soft as a summer grass and her scent reminded Iblis of mint. His heart was sent into a wild run that he was sure Rhae could hear. But then, she spoke again and her voice filled his ears with a soothing melody that calmed his soul.

'How dare you, Iblis. You were mine, are mine! Think you can escape that easily?' said a distant voice. It had come from nowhere and yet everywhere at the same time. Iblis knew that voice and the one it belonged to and for a split moment, he was forced to tear his gaze from Rhae and gaze around the surrounding forest. They were alone, yet not. She was there. The wolf who had jumped from the cliff. The wolf who would have been Iblis' downfall. Jaidah. She was with him, always. A ghost of a former love and a banshee that wouldn't be silenced. Even now, she wished to wrap the chain around his neck again and if not for the golden glow of Rhae, Jaidah would have been successful. Iblis stared at his newfound imprint again and like a flash, Jaidah retreated back into the darkness of his heart. He smiled at his savior and shook his head softly as he answered her question.

"I have been alone most of my life. Though I had wolves around me every now and then, I truly did not feel like I belonged. I have never known the love of a pack, at least, not for very long and I have never known the kindness of many strangers. I am a vigilantly of sorts and a protector of the weak. In my line of work, one cannot afford to have friends. I fear even now I may be putting you in danger..." The words Iblis usually kept secret flowed so easily in her presence. He could tell her anything for he trusted her above all else and knew, without a shadow of a doubt, that she would keep his secrets. For she could do no wrong. Suddenly realizing what he had just said, Iblis cleared his throat and bowed again. "I am sorry, I did not mean to say such grave things. I can promise you that I will keep you save no matter what. Should any harm come upon you while I still live and breathe, I will not stop hunting the one who did it until they are dead."

It was rather comical in a sense for a wolf as small as Iblis to vow to protect another so large and powerful. But his words were strong like iron. Perhaps he was taking things a little too seriously, but such is the way of a knight who has vowed to give his life and soul to a queen. Rhae held his heart and will in her paws. She could command him to love her, command him to stay by her side, even command him to kill for her and he would do it all without a second thought. He would never question her. Would she be his light or would she be his darkness?
