Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

I wish to be free from this musty old den just as much as Viora does so how DARE she go out exploring without me?! She knows that I am to protect her! Mom put me in charge of that specifically. Well, she didn't exactly say the words but I'm sure she hinted at them at some point. Isn't that what brothers are supposed to do? Watch out for their sister? Since Soli's not keeping up his part of the bargain, I figure it's on me to do it. After all, she can't very well watch out for herself, now can she? Viora has a hunger for the outside, though that's something I can completely understand. Who would want to spend their existance cooped up in these dusty walls? Not I. I'm just as eager to get out into the grass and see the sun. Just as eager to be free. I've learned to be pretty sneaky as well. She's good at checking behind her to see if she's being followed so I learned how to hide behind rocks and such to mask my stalking. This is like the ultimate game of hide and seek. I enjoy this game very much. I can tell I'm doing a good job when she grins and takes off at a faster pace. She thinks she's gotten victory, that she's not being followed. Ah, my naive sister. She's too distracted by the sky after a while, completely forgetting about where her paws are going. I come to a hesitant halt and hide again when she suddenly stumbles, my face cringing in sympathy. That must hurt. I should know. I've fallen on my face quite a few times. Yesterday, actually. I think I fell two or three times yesterday.

I grit my fangs, pondering on whether I should go check on her. That will completely make me loose my cover though, so in the end, I decide not to. I flick my ears back at the snarl that leaves her lips. Such a crybaby, Viora. I hate it when she makes that sound. I tilt my head, watching her bite at her own paws. Why ever would she do that? It certainly won't help her walk better. Suddenly she's looking up at something though as it flies around her. Oh, a bug! I gather myself, ready to leap out after it but I catch myself at the last minute. Whoa, I almost blew my cover, again! I'm content to chase after her, secretively of course, as she chases the bug. I have to grit my teeth a couple times to keep from laughing out loud at her attempts to catch the bug with her paws. I roll my eyes instead, my tail giving a few waves of amusement at the sight, though I'm really wanting to join her. Why oh why does she have to sneak away like this? We could catch bugs together! It would be so much easier. We could corner them! The bug seems to have figured out her ploy cause it suddenly flies straight up and I stop, watching my sister get ready to jump up after it. This almost has me barking at her in scolding. What, does she think she can fly or something? I almost laugh again when she lands firmly on her stomach. Silly girl. I wait for her to get up and be gone again but to my utter disappointment, she stays on her stomach instead. Ugh, is this all she's going to do all day? BOR-ing!

Suddenly there's someone new to focus my attention on. Who the hell is this? My eyes narrow protectively on the red and black male. He doesn't look like a puppy I've ever seen here before! In fact, he doesn't smell like the rest of us, either. What is it? Did he roll in something he's not supposed to? I wrinkle my nose up, watching with an extra cautious gaze. What does he want with Viora? I don't trust him. He had been running behind my sister though I must be extra sneaky because he doesn't seem to know that I'm here either. He jumped up right after she did, swatting at the bug but he was no more successful, falling to the ground in a heap right after her. I watch him carefully as he goes to get up, my whole body tensing in case I need to protect Viora. He starts muttering in some awful language. What is that? Is that even words? Perhaps it's his own made up words. My eyes narrow again. More reason not to trust him. Who would trust someone who makes up their own language? I decide that it's time to make myself known. Viora needs someone to back her up. Stepping out of cover, I clear my throat as I step over to stand beside Viora, eying the stranger with mistrust and curiosity all at once.

"Who are you and why do you speak funny? Why do you smell funny? Did you roll in something?"

So many questions but I'm curious by design.
