Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

Meryl had a lot to do and not a lot of time to do it. War was on the horizon, and Meryl had been using his supplies to equally deal with the crime Devil May Cry had committed on a member of Diveen that he had done to the female of Iromar. Meryl was not a fan of that wolf for what he had done to Vidar, nor what he could have done to poor Vidar’s mother, but war? Meryl was fuming over it. What of their families that this Ishtar was bound to destroy and ruin should things go for too long? What of Azrael who quickly came to the call to arms his sister had done that morning? It was terrible, all of it was. Meryl had to prepare for all the wounds he would be dealing with. He would have help, all Healers of all ranks had been ordered to begin working on getting a surplus, but the season was changing and quickly going against him. This winter, and next spring, may not be good times for the healers. Surely he could pull through and hopefully no madness would happen this winter. He could not delve into anything needed for the next spring though. No, no possible way he would risk mothers and puppies, but he couldn’t risk the warriors either.

Curse Ishtar.

He was sure he was not the only one wishing ill upon the alphess as this time, her, like Devil May Cry, like that wolf who had stolen his mother, would eventually have to pay. Something, someone would get her, and hopefully it would be during the war that she would fully pay for her own packs many crimes against Diveen. Meryl was there when Iromar’s wolf had taken his mother, felt that pain, been there when they had taken the imprint of the King of Diveen. They had done many crimes against Diveen, and this was the first he knew that Diveen had done anything wrong to them. Even then, he was not sure if hit hadn’t been deserved. No one had said what the circumstances were, but they didn’t sound good… Devil did seem to attack his poor friend Vidar in cold blood, not to mention he was of Diveen. Something was not right with that Wolf.

Meryl could not just think of this though, there was too much to do. He moved very pointedly in the forest, on trails traveled often to the known catches of herbs. Hopefully enough time had passed for more to grow, he moved down by the river where his aloe supply was, where he had taken special care to make sure more and more would continue to grow and someday he could move some to his apothecary to grow. There was so much to do, and he had to make sure it was all done in time.
