The ocean had proved itself to be a marvelous thing, something he had grown accustomed to much faster than he had expected. Cersei and he had spent their day patrolling the shoreline, examining the most unusual things that had washed up during the last storm. Cersei in particular had taken a keen interest in the various shells - over and over, she brought them to him, expecting him to know the answer to what had once lived inside it. Of course, he didn't know (something which bothered him) and come her time to leave, he had taken upon himself to find the answer.
Even as the storm began to roll in, he remained footed firmly in the sand, ever searching each new surge's aftermath. It was frustrating to the the least, being unable to find an answer to something that was so trivial but still, a pleasant distraction. With winter came all kinds of storms and whereas some were easy to avoid, some were inevitable. Come spring, he would be blessed with more children and yet he could not help but wonder what price he would pay this time around. Soon enough, his search became frustration and rather than simply leap and dance in the cold water, he began to bite at it, snapping and jumping back. Perhaps he looked silly but nonetheless, it seemed to be an effective way of de-stressing. It was by far better than simply brooding in silence, he figured.
And so he continued, at time sprinting some ten or so feet down the beach, kicking up sand as he slid to a stop. How long he had kept it up, he didn't know, not until he heard another splashing in the distance, a foreign scent drifting in the salted air. There was another familiar which was the one that caught his attention completely, his ears pricking forward as he swiveled to face the direction of the scent. Chickadee? The young female he had met in the outermost region of the crater? Slowly, a smile crept over his muzzle before he began to lope onward, realizing just how close to his own borders he had become.
It didn't take him long to cross the distance between them, bridging over his borders and finding the duo on the same stretch of beach. By the very shoreline was a stockier female, her body all too obviously one designed for power. He was most curious about her for a moment as she played in the waves, but soon enough, he turned his attention to the auburn lady he had met before. He barked out to her, beckoning her to come forward to him as he meant to close in on Jagger.
"Why not come to the water, Chickadee?"
He called out to her as he came to a halt some ten feet from the darker female, his eyes resting on her as he tilted his head curiously. Indeed, he must have looked quite silly so boisterously bouncing around the waves but nonetheless, it was good to know he was not alone in enjoying them that day. She was a small thing, some eight or more inches shorter, and yet he could already determine that she outweighed even he. Rather than being a brute of a thing, he was and lean with legs just too long for his body - a stark white, russet and black beacon on the pale sands. Still, she was a stranger and yet, she had merited some length of trust due to her association to Chickadee, whom he had determined to be not only a good wolf but also a good potential, well, companion. Caligula had her friends and it was about time he made his.
"And what of you? It seems you have the right idea when it comes to the sea."
He cocked a brow, his tail arched over his rump in a display of dominance but he waved it briefly in a friendly gesture. What had brought them to the ocean? In his short time there, he had seldom seen many come merely to observe its beauty. Had there been some kind of ulterior motive? Or would he simply be invited, if he was so lucky, to join in on some kind of game? He wouldn't mind. Today was his day of de-stressing and perhaps the black wolf would know what it was that once lived in the shells.
