Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

THE HERE AND NOWALPHA OF GLORALL

Sin was official one year old! He sat atop of his Mother's den proudly. He was excited that his training was about to begin, and with Tesseract, of all wolves! His alpha. He was the first alpha the Sinclair would know personally, and Sinclair had every intention of keeping Tesseract in power. For what he had observed, even at his young age, he knew their leader was capable. He had quickly established his authority and organized the scattered back into ranks. Sinclair would strive to be the best pupil he could be for his leader.

And because of that, Sinclair was already self-training. He traveled to the border and back at least once everyday, sometimes he would even travel along the boarders of Glorall for a few miles before returning to the den. He had to be in good shape to start learning fighting techniques, after all. He was just preparing to move out. Sin yawned and stretched his back and legs before he trotted a few paces in place.

When he felt warm, Sin leaped off the top of the den and cantered away across the sand, and then up and into the sparse forest. Sinclair pretended to stalk an opossum he had stumbled across, but he had no idea how to kill something yet. He hadn't been on his first hunt, after all, so he only scared it into hiding before he followed his nose to the edge of Glorall. When he was there, he took a sniff.

He was familiar with the smells of the border now and of which ones were suppose to be there or not. It surprised him when he picked up the smell of a foreign wolf. Sin raised an eyebrow and followed the smell to it's source. He concealed himself behind a bunch of bushes in order to observe the scene. The wolf was just... sitting there, looking very relieved. She didn't seem all that dangerous.

Part of Sinclair heeded the advice to not approach strangers, but this one didn't seem malicious. She hadn't just waltzed into Glorall territory, after all. And Sin really wanted to talk with her anyways. She reminded him of the moon, and how could a wolf resist the haunting pull of a moon? He emerged from the bushes and trotted forwards.

He stopped a good length away from her though. He could bring himself to abandon all caution. He was smaller than she, at the moment. He was 16 inches tall and was about 75 pounds. In short, he was large enough to discourage an eagle from picking him up, but other wolves would know he was an easily target. Plus, he had heard terrible tales of pup-eaters, after all. And he was still too young to know if they were myth or not. "Hello, Moon-pelt. Are you waiting for someone?" Sin asked. He had picked up the common language quickly because after he left the den, he heard it all the time and because he was young, his mind acted like a sponge and soaked up the proper grammar. There were still words he didn't know or understand, but he could hold a conversation.
