Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

soul forever her own | heart captured by none | Hastati for Glorall | no children |

Jagger's own den was much more Spartan than her sister's. It was just big enough for her to turn around in, albeit slowly and with some difficulty. It wasn't as deep as Chicky's either, and to fit herself she had to curl up tightly. It was cold and hard, no pelts or soft moss lining it and no room for food storage but that was fine with the Hastati. She'd likely never have a mate, god forbid an imprint, and that meant she'd have no pups, so she didn't need a bigger den. Besides, why take away a bigger den from someone who needed it more? But she had her eye on another den, one she sometimes used instead of her usual. It was also set into the bluffs, higher than Chicky's, and like her sister she'd be able to watch the storms. Since it was so high, she'd have a great vantage point to watch all that went on below her. It was somewhat secluded because of this, but with the sound of the waves it never seemed lonely. It was as deep as Chicky's, though tall enough to accommodate herself when she laid down and maybe even someone taller. From there she could watch over her home, Glorall's very own Gargoyle.

But her mind was elsewhere, focused on combating her roiling emotions. Dammit, why'd he have to show up? She was doing fine, she had a home, a permanent home for the first time in her life since pup hood, she had a sister, she had two apprentices, and she had a rank that she wanted. If he hadn't shown up, everything would have been dandy. She didn't need any complications in her life. She thought she was free of him when she left Fidelis, free of his annoying, rage-inducing obsession to protect her. Protect her, ha! She didn't need anyone to protect her, she could protect herself. Had been since she left her birth pack. She had been a nomad for nearly all her life; how could one reach adulthood being a female nomad if one couldn't protect themselves without any others' help?

She had been in Fidelis for less than a month thanks to him. He had gotten under her skin so damn quick and so damn much it was pathetic, really. He just had to breath to piss her off it seemed. She remembered after she got attacked by that alligator, her back leg all ripped up, and he'd threatened to kill whoever did it to her. She growled, the sound savage and angry, snapping her fangs in the air as she realized where she was going. It seemed her paws carried her back to Glorall, or, more specifically, her sister's den. Jagger almost blanched, wanting to bolt back to her den, her small, cold cramped den where he didn't exist, but no. She was already bounding towards her. She plastered a smile on her face, happy to see her sister but too full-up of emotion to really express it.

"Hey, Chickadee!" She called brightly, or at least tried, as she closed in on her."Did you hear the good news?" She asked, happiness shining through her weak facade. At least she had a topic to divert the other female's attention from her aura of conflicting emotions and starting-to-scab-over cuts and things from her fight with the lynx. The front of one of her forelegs no longer looked completely ripped up, but it was clear it had gotten rather shredded in the past few days. "I'm a Hastati!" She gave a little bounce, tail waving at the thought of her rank. She had heard her sister was an Ordine, and she couldn't be happier for her. She even had an apprentice, too! Apparently it was one of the Alphas' daughters, and she was proud of her. Bet she didn't think she'd be teaching a princess.
