The forest stands tall and lush here; ancient trees reach weather-twisted arms to the sky, fighting monster-like storm clouds back with their interlacing fingers. Shadow seems to lurk everywhere you look, but it spills calmly, coolly, inspiring a sense of stealthy calm or protection rather than unease. That is, if you've forgotten what kind of creature might be stalking just out of sight...Abendrot is a land cradled by the dark woods on all sides; in the center, some of the larger trees stay behind to reveal a small plateau - a citadel where this pack can gather and defend itself from invaders. There are, of course, softer sides to the land. Clearings here and there allow the sun to throw down its rays in incongruously resplendent gold showers. Ignore the lingering scents of blood spattered here and there along the borders: those do not concern you. The river on one edge of the territory is playful enough when it hasn't been gorged by violent rain. You can choose to note the ragged claw marks raked down tree trunks and the forest floor as friendly "Home Sweet Home" signs, if you wish.

All who treasure loyalty, order, victory, and the occasional indulgence of raw visceral pleasure are welcome, once they've been approved by the ever-watchful eyes of Abendrot's Alpha. But keep one thing in mind: no matter what your motive, this is not a fool's Paradise. This is the land of soldiers, assassins, and spies. This is ABENDROT.

Make up your mind quickly and prepare to prove your worth. You wouldn't want to add to those blood spatters, would you...?

Trying to Forget the Past, This Was Never Meant to Last

Chenzii was feeling more accepted into her pack every day. Her and her mate had just moved up in ranks again, something that the fae would always be thankful to Kalgalath for. She loved being a member of the pack and wanted to do everything possible to show that she was a valued and needed pack member. She would prove to Kal that he had chosen wisely by accepting her those many months ago and by giving her the rank of Delta. Pride filled her chest as she trailed behind her friend and packmate, Magic. Magic, just like Chenzii, fit perfectly into the night. The two femme’s ebony pelts blending into the shadows and darkness as they made their way through the forest. The only thing visible in the darkness was the two ess’s amber orbs glowing in the darkness. The pair were identical physically and going out on their mission in the dark worked perfectly for both of them.

Magic and Chenzii had both recently responded to one of the many tasks that Kalgalath had asked for his pack to participate in. The femme thought that Kalgalath was a very smart and strategic alpha. He was asking for his pack to go and check out the other packs in Blossom to check on how his allies were doing and how the alphas and alphesses of the other packs were. Some packs had new leaders and it was important for Aurora to be kept current on who was in charge of what pack. Chenzii and Magic had volunteered to go to a pack that Chenzii thought she would never approach, Abendrot. The black ess had heard many stories about the pack and the ferocity and evil that lived there, but were the rumors true? Chenzii was about to find out and she was more confident than she had anticipated to be. She had come a long way, no fear in her at all with the thoughts of approaching the strange pack, something that would have terrified her not too long ago.

Chenzii followed behind Magic, knowing the way herself but letting her friend lead. The fae wondered if the rumors were true that Abendrot had a new Queen to accompany Kershov, the current Alpha. Chenzii had never met a wolf from Abendrot and she had no idea what to expect from them, but she kept her guard up as they approached the border. The scent of the pack reached the black femme’s nares and she started to slow down as the border drew nearer. Chenzii was surprised when Magic almost walked across the border, but she stopped herself abruptly before entering the strangers territory. A breeze ruffled their pelts as Magic spoke, “Now we will wait.” Chenzii nodded towards her friend. The black femme stood tall at the border, not wanting either of the pair to look weak or frightened for when someone found them. She knew they were not here to make friends or alliances, just to get necessary information. The two ebony femmes blended into the night as they waited for the white pelt of the alpha to approach them.
