Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

She'd always had a tremendous soft spot for those without a home to call their own. See, she had been before and she knew the dangers of the night, and the gnarling pain of hunger when nobody could help you. She knew it, and she despised it; if she could have, she would ensured no other ever went hungry or alone. Of course, that task was impossible - she'd come to that sad realisation a long time ago - but still, she could at least try and make a difference one wolf at a time. Today, it just so happened that she had encountered one who smelt of foreign lands - she would be the one to help today. In the eyes of Niviaq, even those that claimed they needed no help often did.

When she noticed the girl's hackles rise, she stood back a small step, dipping her head apologetically and waving her tail slowly. She had meant no harm, but she often forget that a life alone could make another so... hesitant for company. The moment those hackles went down, though, she was back up with a broad smile - instant validation for her approach!

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Spirit!"

She yipped cheerfully, kicking her front paws up in a playful manner before tilting her head; so, she was new. Seldom did a wolf's smell prove wrong but it was still strange to meet a newcomer; even in Spirane, many of the wolves had relations to the others, and relations to the wolves of Old Moladion. She thought on the matter for a moment, her mouth fallen into a soft 'o' - how strange. It put them both into a bit of an awkward predicament; as old as she was, she hadn't quite familiarized herself with the lands yet. All she knew was the general locations - they were East of Spirane, for example, and North of the largest pack, Diveen. As for the name of the place in which they stood? Now, that was a mystery. The thought could only last so long though before Spirit spoke once more; instantly, Niviaq shook her head, in an effort to literally shake the thoughts away.

"Well, I am from many places," she chuckled, her face once more brightening into something much more cheerful than prior, "But, my home is called Spirane -" she motioned west, over the seemingly endless valley where the peak of the mountain could be seen cutting through the sky, "that's it over there. It's a beautiful place, but before that, I was from a pack by the sea."

Her smile weakened ever so slightly, her lip twitching in the slightest hint of sadness. Apparently, she thought to herself, it still hurt to remember back to Litherum, to the days before the very pack land itself had sunk. She was thankful, though (more thankful than she knew), that Spirit was there - she made Niviaq stay in the present.

"And what about you? What is your home land like, Spirit? If you don't mind me asking, of course."

She paused, shuffling atop her paws before flashing another sheepish smile. Apparently her paws hurt a little more than she had envisioned; they weren't quite used to all the rocks of the valley yet. She chuckled quietly, bowing her head apologetically before speaking again.

"Would you like to sit with me? The journey here was much longer than I thought?"
