Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

Having not grown up around other wolves, well except for Cae, Gaia was confused by the actions of her new found friend. She couldn't know he was feeling the same about her which had made the situation play out as such. Two wolf pups from two very different backgrounds had come together on a chilly winters day. Not knowing how to react to the silent wolf, Gaia simply did the talking for him as they moved back towards her den. The only sound he had made was a small whine but she couldn't tell why he had done that. When asked, he never spoke a word. Still limping slightly, Gaia walked on unawear of the manner at which her companion moved. She couldn't know that to return home could mean death for him or that he knew only too well what fear and pain felt like. The girl had never known such things as her parents did all they could to take care of she and Cae. Perhaps one day Gaia would come to understand the actions behind the dark boy, but for now she just smiled and kept moving forward.

"I'm Gaia, by the way. What's your name? Oh, right, you don't talk. I'm going to call you Speckles cause of your fur. Oh, maybe Mommy and Daddy came home from the hunt. I am sure you can have some food if you want. I don't mind sharing with my friends. What kind of foods do you like to eat? I like rabbits the best. They are kinda chewy, but better than the mice Dad brought home once. That didn't fill me up at all. But Rabbits..." On and on she went as the pair travelled deeper into the woods. Gaia had been so busy with talking that she hadn't been paying much attention to where they were going and wandered away from the trail. Her voice echoed in the silent forest as animals skittered away from the wolves, not knowing that they were just children. The walking made her legs ache more and what started out as a slight limp turned into a painful hindrance. Soon, she stopped talking and only small whimpers left her mouth. Why did her legs hurt so bad? The den couldn't be too far away.

It was then that Gaia realized... she had no idea where they were. The scent was unfamiliar and she knew she should be able to smell the musky aroma of her parents that surrounded the den sight. Here, there was only open woodland as the trees that were once grouped close together grew farther apart. She turned around, sure that her little shadow was following her, and felt tears form in her bi-colored eyes. "I-I don't know where we are. Speckles, this isn't where my den is. I thought that if we followed my steps we would go home. But... She stared to cry as panic gripped her heart. Gaia didn't realize they could simply backtrack again. Her legs hurt too much and she was just a pup. A scared child who didn't know what it was really like to feel fear.
