Caligula. It had been the one word on his mind since he had awoken so many hours ago; he had spent the first half hour or his morning simply resting beside her, allowing himself to bask in her scent and very aura. Eventually, however, he had been drawn out of their den by duty, the song birds alerting him of the sun's awakening. Though he desired to remain with her, he could not - not now, at least. If he did not tend to the borders or those within the pack, he was positive only negativity would come to them. Already, he had begun to notice Jagger's and Chickadee's absences and the stagnancy of the others. It bothered him, of course, but with spring having fallen upon them, he had a new hope. That depended on his leadership, of course, and what better way to remind them all of the king of the sea then to be ever present? Surely he'd become a common sight on the borders already, a habit he'd quickly instilled in himself.
Reluctantly, he rose from the den's mouth, shaking his pelt free of debris. He moved slow, circling about the area for some moments in hopes that Caligula would stir to join him; he had no intention on waking her, though, rather preferring to allow her all the luxuries he could afford her. Besides, she'd been busy in her own right: it was no easy chore to be a mother, he was sure, particularly to four daughters who simply did not stop moving. When he felt as though it was certain she would not rise, he moved on, venturing towards the northern borders. He always did enjoy beginning his day by the river, lapping up the cooled water and exploring the rocky landscape.
It took him but half the day to navigate the northern and western borders, remarking each and every landmark he could and sending short blasts of howls out to the world around them - invitations to all and any, alerting them of the pack's proximity. It was a long shot but any attention Glorall could receive would ultimately be worth it - they needed it, after all. Perhaps he would revisit any of his allies soon enough, if only to stir interest in their doings and to bring more knowledge into their small pack. There'd always be someone willing to learn, and someone willing to teach. Perhaps if they gained a teacher, potential students would be inclined to take roost within the sea side's territory.
Come midday, he had grown restless of his venturing and his thoughts fast returned to Caligula. Was she still resting or had she stirred and taken a new task upon herself? Perhaps she waited for him, or so he hoped. That hope drew him towards their den once more, his tail bouncing cheerfully behind him. As he got closer, he lowered his nose towards the earth, finding her familiar scent - he would track her to the end's of the earth if he had to. His mind simply would not rest: he had to spend time with her once more, quality time rather than their simple duties as alphas, or as parents. Today, he wanted to forget the borders and the responsibility and simply enjoy the woman he had been born to be along side.
