He liked Rogue, that much had been decided. She had a brilliant head on her and had fast begun to prove her skills and prowess whereas so many others began to fall behind. Honestly, though, he had a hard time being surprised by such a thing. If there were any wolves he would have believed needed to prove themselves and fight for their rightful spot, it was the wolves of Iromar - or at least, the wolves that had come with Baphomet's lot. They were a little more dog eat dog than most wolves, see. Perhaps that is why he had been awaiting her return after witnessing her leave the pack some time ago; he couldn't help but be curious as to what she had been up to all these days. He knew she had taken a visitor not long ago, though such a thing hardly bothered him. The wolf had left and had hardly ventured that far into Glorall, anyway - he trusted Rogue's judgement.
The moment even an inkling of her scent drifted into the mainland of Glorall, he rose to attention. Again, he had taken to lazing in the shade in an effort to avoid the day's sun. At least this time he had been smart enough to send his children on errands, giving him the quality alone time he so desired. He'd had to do a lot of thinking considering the recent Alpha changes of Iromar and the shift of power dynamics in Spirane. He figured he would speak to Rogue on the matter, considering she likely knew much more of Iromar than he did. With that in mind, he had taken immediately to following the scent trail, though another began to mingle with it: male, a scent unlike one he had smelt before. He narrowed his eyes as he loped on, his tail arching over his rump as he broke out onto the sandy runway that was the beach. In the distance, he could make out two figures - one clearly Rogue and the other evidently the male he had found traces of. He couldn't help but raise a brow at that. Rogue had brought home company?
As he approached, he watched the males mannerisms - the way he moved about the sand, reacted to the water rushing to him. His age was greater than both Rogue and his own, that was much was clear, and he built short and rather stout compared to the leggy Tesseract. Nonetheless, he held himself rather confidently, though his disdain for the strong salt and sea smell of Glorall wore like a mask. He found his lips turn up in a smirk over that, quite bemused by the others of Moladion begin so unused to the smell. When you lived by the sea for so long, the smell of the fresh mountain air started to become an oddity.
He did not need to hear the male's words to understand the expectation - he would be a poor Alpha if he had taken much longer to appear, after all. The borders had to be well protected and not merely by wolves of the pack, but by the reigning family too. Rather than pause at a distance, he moved in close, barely stopping four feet from the male as he eyed him off once more. There was little threat found within him, something he was thankful for - the last male he had encountered on the beach had been Jumanji, who had gotten far too close to Caligula for his liking and had degraded one of their pack women, Alana. Typically, he was distrusting of his own gender but for now... he'd give the male the benefit of the doubt, if only because he had come with Rogue.
"A pleasure to see you back, Rogue. I had just been thinking about you."
He bowed his head to her with a flash of a toothy grin, a stiff wave of his tail given in her direction before he turned his attention back to the male. Again, he appraised the male in silence before he spoke, meeting the male's gaze. He'd hold eye contact until the male broke it, a silent battle of wills that would surely show the male's inner self more than any amount of words.
"And you are? It is not often that Rogue brings home a guest. Consider yourself a lucky man."
