Many wolves looking for relaxation come to Blossom Field. A gentle breeze vibrating the blossoming flowers is quite a sight to see and it is quite a favourite for wolves to come with their mates.

A recent fire has ruined the scenery, half the field covered with soot and marked with scars of the flames. The other half is untouched, however.

Loyalty means nothing unless it has at its heart the absolute principle of self-sacrifice

The pack meeting had gone smoothly, and Zig had even returned, something he had never expected to happen. For so long was her absence that the King had assumed that she was gone for forever, or at least for years as Nika had done. There had not been time yet to reconcile with her, to talk about why she had left, where she had been, what she had done. There had been no time to tell Zig what had been happening in the pack, about the new wolves he had met. Would he mention Nike? To be sure, there had been a slight spark when he had met the ess, looking so similar to Nika aside from her eyecolor. Perhaps it was simply because of Zig’s absence that he had been lonely and had wanted companionship. So there was no doubt he would mention her… just not the feelings that were so confusing. There was no point in injuring his mate and making her feel even guiltier for leaving him, her daughter, and their pack.

There had not been time for any of that yet, mostly because he first had to focus on his friend in need, Chenzii. At the pack meeting, she had inquired as to whether she could be one of the ambassadors to Saw Tooth. It was true that there previously had been ambassadors, perhaps it had been Glitch and Zig. But as previously stated, Zig was in no place to be an ambassador to any other pack. She was in poor shape and to be honest, knew nothing of the current news on the pack. She needed to be home, with her family, to mend the bonds that she had broken when she had left. But Chenzii? The eboness needed a job to do to keep her mind from her own absent mate, who was sure to never return this time. If he did… a dark snarl escaped from his lips and he snapped at the air, imagining what he would do to Chiron because of his second betrayal. Kalgalath had believed in him and granted to him a second chance, one that the brute had thrown away. His life was forfeit should he ever return to these lands.

At the pack, it had been decided that they would speak afterward, but Kalgalath had never imagined that she would flee from the pack and wander alone into another part of Blossom Forest. Tracking her down was not difficult at all, for he knew her well and knew her scent well. Even with the thick perfume of the flowers that covered half of the Blossom Fields, he could still track her as if her scent had left a visible path. She was laying in the center of the half still alive with blossoms, her form curled up tight and her cranium laying upon her limbs, lids closed tightly. Gently, Kalgalath curled against her, looping his neck over hers and pulling her tightly to him. He knew what she was feeling, and how horrible it was. How empty she felt. How alone.

I am so sorry, my friend, for what he has done to you. I will not tell you that he is not worthy of your love, or that the pain will end soon, for I will not ever tell you a lie. I will tell you, however, that you will find another and you will love again and be happy again with time. Until then, we shall just have to keep you busy. Starting with the position you spoke up about.” Sighing, he realeased her and moved so that he was standing in front of her, his arctics peering at her forlorn bodice. “As you know, we have an alliance with Saw Tooth. I wish for you to travel there and tell Moth, if she does not already know, of the new Alpha at Moondown Shadow, dubbed Striker. Tell her of our new alliance with him and that two of my offspring, Aindreas and Adara, have taken up residence there out of good faith. You do not have to leave now of course. But whenever you feel that you are ready.
