With night falling Lyden had become restless knowing that Skylar, and gandy both were carrying for their children. His son was very high energy and Lyden couldn’t but smile because he was exactly the same at his age. He could remember both his parents scolding him and chasing him around before they finally just gave up and allowed him to run circles around them. His older sister Sylvia, had already left the herd moving on with her life with Midas who as far as he understood she was still with. It left him all alone with his parents and he was pretty certain they almost went mad raising him

With a turn of his head Lyden spotted the faint physic of Gandy moving towards the shore and he followed at a slow easy gaited trot. Delicate ears perked forward Lyden wondered why she left the herd. None of them minded Jouk being awake and bouncing around like children did and so he figured he’d go see what was going on. It would also take his mind off of Caesisus for he hadn’t seen her since the bay and wondered if he’d ever see her again

The pale pearlino seemed to be constantly on his mind much like Skylar was until her arrival with the girls and her soft features with pale eyes looking up at him with hope haunted him. Lyden felt as though he needed her in ways that he didn’t need the rest of his herd. Granted every single one of his mares meant something to him – each in their very own way

Reaching the shoreline with his thoughts clouded Lyden breathed in the scent of blood and heard the thundering of hooves after. Throwing his head up the pale king lurched forward easily moving into a gallop trying to catch up to whoever was ahead of him and find the source of the blood stench.

A few long legged strides was all it took for Lyden to notice gandy moving in-between a figure on the ground and their son. Lyden was barely able to slide up next to them before he heard her demand jouk to stay and then instantly question the mare. Looking down at the pale figure his heart sank, instantly he knew it was cae and even though he was filled with happiness to see her cut was oozing with blood as water fell from her skin and another gash on her hind quarters leaked

”easy gandy this is Caesisus and I invited her here’ bumping her shoulder to try to calm her Lyden moved his head to Cae and ran his soft comforting lips over her forehead and over her crown. ”you made it, I’m so relieved” he paused ”can you stand? I must get you to safety before something tries to hurt you” looking over at gandy Lyden breathed ”gandy you may have to help me get Caesius to safety she’s hurt pretty badly as we all can see and she’ll need support on both sides”
