Danny wasn't sure what compelled him to go in search of his mentor, but something told him he really ought to stop by. Now that he thought of it, it was a bit odd that he'd not had any lessons in the last few days, and that didn't seem... right. After all, Khasekhemwy was probably among the busiest of the deities of late, and surely he'd need some assistance from his student. Wouldn't he? After his talk with Zed and Allianah - and his failed attempt at reviving Tsi, which still rubbed at his conscience despite Zed's reassurances - Danny had rushed home to change into clean clothing, wiped away the remaining dust and dirt from his face, and hurried back out the door in search of his teacher. Though he had no magic to guide him - especially not now that the Ancient Creature had taken such things away - he felt drawn towards Khasekhemwy's familiar cabin, and was certain he'd find the god within. Danny blinked at the slightly unkempt state of the yard, but continued past it without pause. He trotted up the front steps and knocked at the door, surprised when it slid open at the first knock. Solarius looked up at the boy with wide eyes, neither of them quite certain what to do. Finally, with a shrug, boy and tiger slipped inside.
"Hello? Sir? Are you in here?" Danny called out. He and Sol froze, startled by the cluttered-yet-organized hallway they found themselves in. Danny cleared his throat awkwardly, feeling more unsure by the second. He glanced at Sol, who gave him a feline version of a shrug. After a second of hesitation they moved deeper through the house, following their ears until they arrived at the kitchen and found the god at his kitchen table. He waited to be noticed, even cleared his throat nervously, before finally speaking up.
"Excuse me, sayedy?" Danny asked tentatively. |
