Many wolves looking for relaxation come to Blossom Field. A gentle breeze vibrating the blossoming flowers is quite a sight to see and it is quite a favourite for wolves to come with their mates.

A recent fire has ruined the scenery, half the field covered with soot and marked with scars of the flames. The other half is untouched, however.

Row was surprised with himself as he pulled Skipper into the hug. His mind raced at a mile a minute. What was he doing? Why was he doing it? This wasn't right. It wasn't proper. He could already hear the sneers of other children. The words they would taunt him with. What would his parents say? All the worry melted away when his best friend pulled him closer, and briefly Row allowed their embrace to remain before he jerked away as the thoughts came back. He busied himself with retrieving the prey, keeping his back turned so Skip didn't see the furious blush on his face. "Sorry. I don't know what came over me." he mumbled as some means of an explanation. It wasn't nearly good enough but it was all his muddled brain could come up. Usually he was better at coming up with excuses. With lying. Why now was he struggling to come up with something.

I see you haven't kept out of trouble, Row. the little pup whirled around to face Skipper, an insulted look on his face. "And I see you have. What's up with that, Skip? I thought we would always be mischief makers and cause trouble for everyone. We promised never to grow up. Did you forget, huh? Did going off on your own change that?" It wasn't like the other boy to be so... so... good! The pirate watched Skip pick up the chipmunk in his jaws, handing it to the younger boy. Here. Been picking on the older wolves, Row? This drew a small grin from the pirate.

"Course. Who else is going to put them in their places?" He felt bad for his outburst. They were one of the many things he was finding he had more and more frequently. It was odd; Row used to be the calm, collected one, always watching over their little group and paying little attention to himself. But that had all changed once Skip had gone exploring. He had never been regarded as a leader and the others had refused to respect his authority. He wasn't Skipper, so why should they? The twins and Kit and Tito. They'd all disappeared. He'd never managed to find them. Hell, Row didnt even know if they were still alive. Maybe it was his worsening temper that had been their driving force. The usually calm pirate had been snappy and all around more grumpy. After they'd left... It had gotten even worse. Perhaps it became a coping mechanism for the blame he felt. The guilt. Being angry was better than hating oneself wasn't it? And here he was now, a hotheaded young pup. Skipper seemed happy enough to see Row, his eyes bright with joy. The more Seerower gazed into them, the more he felt happiness creep into him as well. His amber eyes filled with joy as well and something he didn't realize or else he would have looked away: love.

Row motioned for Skip to eat with him, waiting until the other boy took a bite before he himself did. Just like the old days. He thought. The pirate kneeled talking to Skipper. He was the only one he could really share anything with. He chewed thoughtfully, watching the tan pup. He swallowed, figuring maybe his friend could help him make sense of life. "What's wrong with me, Skippy?" He looked straight into the boy's shy blue orbs, amber ones dead serious. He didn't want Skip to say nothing like he usually did. Why was he acting like this?
