Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

Watch me fall above like a vicious dove

ISTAS

They don't see me coming, who can blame them?

Istas shifted on his paws, but ultimately he was curious now. He was surprised to say the least that the proud wolf he had met really wasn’t upset with him. Renegade seemed quite surprised that he was worried about that in fact but how could Istas not be? It wasn’t how things were supposed to be, he would be scrutinized he was certain for feeling such a way that he does. His father didn’t really like it and his mother, well he wasn’t sure how she felt. She didn’t seem to mind so much but he knew his father, at the very least, disapproved.

His tail gave a few timid waves when she confirmed he wasn’t made though and perhaps a sheepish smile even tinged his maw. He seemed so assured and honest with that at well. He wasn’t lying. Istas liked to believe he was getting good at telling when a wolf was lying and when they were not. He tried to keep in mind that Renegade apparently was in the spy business as well though and likely was good at hiding how he felt, yet Istas wasn’t for sure but he didn’t think he was. He wanted to believe the red and white wolf was being truthful.

What was he supposed to say though? He did enjoy it, he wasn’t supposed to but he did! There was nothing he could change about it and if he did enjoy it perhaps Renegade would find him weird. But at his short and simple reply Istas could tell that perhaps something had shown through, that it wasn’t genuine. Renegade was a sharp man after all and Istas already knew he wasn’t so easily fooled. Should he have said the truth then? Was it right to say the truth? He wanted too but he couldn’t be sure that perhaps it would ruin something that probably wasn’t there, but Istas couldn’t help but hope for.

Before he could make his decision however Renegade continued, replying to Istas’ own question if he thought it was real. He liked it, but Istas already figured the much. The ghostly boy shifted on his paws slightly curious and watching his expressions and movements closely for any betrayal of lies or discomfort, so far everything seemed genuine. The fluffy, curly coated boy was tempted at that remark to step forward but the remark again about Never, well that deterred him. Again, Never. The girl was who he was curious about, he got his answers Never wasn’t a girl and perhaps Istas may have upset him for it. His ears tipped back and his gaze went away ashamed slightly. He knew how that felt, to have hopes dashed aside. He didn’t mean to hurt him.

His eyes returned then as the brute spoke again a smirk on his maw. ”I-I remind you of someone?” Istas started, curious though not sure how to proceed. He wanted to know more, but he wasn’t sure how to go about asking. ”Was he your friend?” Istas asked without really thinking. It could have been an enemy or brother, but at the same time he had to get the ball rolling somehow.

They never seem to catch my eye but I never wondered why
