Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

Renegade
seven - loner - bound & loved by none

Today was absolutely horrible. There was a storm on the way, fierce wind blowing against the wolf as he made his way down the river towards Iromar. The sky was darkening with the oncoming storm and honestly, Renegade just wanted to go back to his makeshift den and curl up away from the storm. But he was meeting someone out here today, someone special. Istas was his name and the brute refused to admit it but he was a little smitten with the ghostly wolf.

As he approached the border of Iromar where Istas and him had been meeting for a couple months, the brute took a seat near the riverbank, the harsh wind whipping up his coat. He narrowed his eyes against the cold, furious wind. Even the normally slow river was being stirred by the oncoming storm, and Renegade couldn't think of a more miserable day. Summer had disappeared and melted into fall, and now it was fall's turn to melt into winter. He wondered if Istas would even show up because of the storm- but at the same time, he couldn't see why not. The few times they had met since their first proper introduction the white wolf had been overjoyed to see him. It was still a little weird for the both of them, but Renegade would make good on his promise to show Istas how to find love.

It was funny, really, how this responsibility had fallen to a wolf who really had no idea how to handle his own emotions much less someone else's. But their meeting hadn't been simply chance, and though he rejected any idea of fate or destiny, even Renegade had to admit that it was... strange.

Even as Renegade was helping Istas, Istas was helping him, whether he realized it or not. He was thinking of his old life less and less, not living in the past as he had been for most of his time in Moladion. Not forgetting, but he was beginning to get past the irretrievable loss. As unconventional as their budding relationship was, they were good for each other. And so Renegade would wait, as dreary as the day was, until Istas came to him.

oh, bless me Lord for I have sinned
it's been a lifetime since I last confessed
i threw my crutches in "The river of a shadow of doubt"
and I'll be dressed up in my Sunday best
