Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

newborn - vera x yojimbo - no heart - no soul - iromar

She had sucessfully slipped free from the den in the wee hours of the predawn, and with the creeping tendrils of the sun falling upon the foggy moors the deep chocolate demon made her escape from the swamps. Never before had she laid a paw on soil that belonged to any other but the marshes, but on this day she would at last. The further North she traveled, the thinner the fog became and the more firm the earth. Very soon there were no longer the boggy marshes that littered her home but plush, soft and clean grass beneath foot. Such lush growth was common in the humid temperatures of the swamp but to be so pristine and mud free was something else. Little Najira felt her puppy lips curl up in a pleased smile at her discovery as her small and dainty child paws take her further and further away from home.

Up along the river she goes, bright eyes of dark and light blue taking in all of her surroundings quite curiously. She is silent in her endeavors, though often does she step upon a precariously placed twig or crunchy underbrush. She doesn't physically make sounds purposefully, but at such a young age she has hardly mastered the art of silence. Not like her Mother who can come upon her completely silent and unnoticed, faster than lightning and anything Najira or Belhara had ever seen or been witness to. But it was simply that much more reason for the young demon to improve her skill and surpass her Mother in all ways. One day she would, though she knew well that day was far away from now. And she was in no particular rush- as fast and adrenaline filled as her dam was, her sire's wise patience had bled heavily into her. Very much so had she inherited Yojimbo's way of taking his time and rationalizing, taking a look at all perspectives before even considering an outcome.

The sound and movement of the river at her side was a pleasant thing, and though she was small she moved with a certain confidence inherited from Vera. Sudden thirst has her paws leading her to a calm part of the rivers edge, where she can peacefully lean down to lap up a drink. But young and eager eyes are always watching her surroundings for any that thought to approach her, for she knew full well it was not usual for one so young to be so far away from home. But then again Najira was not the average typical wolf, and any passerbyer that thought so would be in for a rather rude awakening.
