Age had come upon him as if it had set out to get him, but he isn't upset by this at all. He had surpassed the first years where Winter was a temptation and he could keep going on in such a way. He had the control and the resolve to become someone that mattered before he even gave a thought to such things as a family beyond his one littermate. She was all that he knew of family, and it did not give him all that much to go on. The pretenders were nothing to him, and he couldn't stand the fact that they had never told him the truth of who he was and where he had come from. They were the worst sort, he thinks. He doesn't miss them, and he wouldn't greet them if they were to stand before him now.
Not that they were, for it was someone else that was standing there. Nothing like the pretenders who he could not stand to see. There was no particular feeling in regards to the female, but she could be useful in gathering information of some sort, and she was company at the least. Riot needed more interaction with other wolves to brush up and sharpen his skills before he finally did join one of the packs, so this worked out well enough for him. Plus, he was a social creature at his base, and it was good to be near other wolves. Good to test himself in all ways, even with words and urges that aren't there enough to give much more than a passing thought to.
If he had known his real parents, Riot might have been so different than what he was now. Less secritive and withheld in all the personal ways he could be. Maybe he would have been more open emotionally, had more of those to begin with. Felt more compassion for others, but Riot didn't quite feel those things. He understood where he stood on a moral and social ground, but that was as far as it went. He didn't even feel love for his sister, but he would protect her because she was blood. If she was worth protecting, if she was strong enough to be around at all. He doesn't look for her, though. Doesn't care one way or the other if he sees her at all. Not all that touching, was it?
Barely anyone knows Riot, but he fully intended to change that fact. He would work towards that goal until he got there, though it was true that he had not been very giving with his name yet. Soon. Let them want to know it, first. Seek it out, and then he would give it. Otherwise he would continue on as he had been. Though he did not expect to see this female's teeth, and he was thinking about his continuing to be interested in gathering information from the females here while Winter was among them. Maybe they were much more moody here than elsewhere? It was possible, because Riot didn't remember enough to have much of a clue about it.
Eesh, it was a good thing to know now, even with keeping his distance and being friendly. However, she did speak to him, answering his question. In a way. Not really a bright outlook, but who was he to judge on that sort of thing? Not his place, and to do so would be an act of caring, which Riot did not. So he simply shrugs at her; those words do not ask for him to approve or deny so he won't. When she looks away and asks if he's from there -- the direction of Glorall she's looking, must be -- he shakes his head at her. "No. Visited, and it's not a bad place. Alpha seems good, the pack doesn't act troublesome as far as I've noticed." He responds evenly.
