The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

There is a certain kind of honor in choosing ones life work and following through with it, so long as it was not raping, pillaging, and murdering. She had heard tale that the plains pack was filled with wolves that carried a more obscure taste, of the sort that was macabre and loathsome. In that knowledge Malleah also knew that she would not venture towards it unless absolutely necessary. Being of her small size was likely to draw attention for those who seek such opportunities and it wasn't in her plan to get murdered and eaten by some crazed lunatics. It was likely not a very good idea for her to be conversating with some strange male in the middle of these dark tunnels but she figures that if it was difficult to see him - being mostly white - then it was almost doubly so for him to see her. It eases a bit of tension from her muscles as she watches his obscure face turn to study her in the quiet of the caverns.

"A healer, you say?" She perks up at this as she shifts around. "I have a wound here on my leg from a particularly nasty badger I encountered about a week past. Perhaps you might take a look at it? I would hate to die cold and sick," she jests the last part. It was true she had a small gash on her hind right leg courtesy of that badger. It had reminded her just why she liked to get others to hunt her food for her. She missed, quite suddenly, the daft male she had holed up with at the beginning of winter before that need to come back to Molodian, if only for his body warmth and for his ability to bring meat constantly.

At his line of questioning she sighs exaggeratedly before sitting down. "The cold brings me in here. I cannot stand it, I have not the bones or the meat for it. I am hungry, too, but I imagine you have scared off any of the critters with your moss stick so I will just have to wait for that. I am Malleah, by the way. Are there no caves where you hail from?' Speaking of, she scents the stale air around them and catches the salty scent that clings to him, no doubt from the Glorall pack.
