Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

To be honest, I knew all about the dangers that wandering could hold. After all the things I had gone through in my early years, I was no stranger to the dangers that lurked. Death, stalkers, rape, it had all been something that sometime in my life I had witnessed, or experienced. Nothing really shocked me much these days, to be honest, and I didn’t think much would anymore. In life you can experience such highs and lows, but its not them that really define your life, its how you recover, how you move on from such tragedies. I knew that others would take my life and show its true colors, how it would mess someone up, but I knew how to hold my own at this point.

I wondered every once in a while, what it would have been like if I had really gotten stuck with Daemon for the rest of my life. It was a blessing in a disguise that he was gone. He had thrown my life through such a loop that it was hard to concentrate past it, especially after it had occurred. But now, now it was so much easier to deal with my own demons in my own way.

My eyes watched him. Wondering what his mindset was like to ask such straightforward questions without knowing who the person was at all. It was a bit strange to be honest. I didn’t know whether to keep answering him, or take my leave, to be honest. “I’m no stranger to danger, and it doesn’t bother me anymore.” I spoke quietly, my eyes tearing away from him as I looked back to the river before me, wondering what my life would have been like should I not have experienced such awful tragedies so young. Such unsavory past, it made a person re-think their life.
