Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

how long will we blame the devils on our shoulders
and pose like angels on the outside

I have come for them today. It only seems appropriate. In time, Achlys will have her own. I have no doubt that it will be required of me to spend time with them. They are my doing, after all. And so, I must mitigate my time between them and these one's. It has been some time since their birth now and surely they are at an age that makes them more... tolerable. They were nothing but squawking, wriggling sacks of organs not too long ago. At least now, I expect they will be able to converse. Do I know what to expect? Of course not. Even as a child, I had limited contact with the young.

Nonetheless, I do not move across Asteraia's borders this time. Instead, I linger in the woods to its south, pestering the border just enough to still be considered out of bounds. This time, I do not call for Renai either. Instead, I find myself a relatively clear area just by the borders; the midday sun filters down onto me. I stand surrounded by towering trees, the earth beneath me littered with vegetation. Various broken logs jut out from the forest beyond, and I wait patiently atop one of them, my paws dangling from the edge. After all, I wish to be higher than them. I do not know what they will be like and so, I cannot confidently ensure their safety if they dare touch me. I have never appreciated the touch of those I do not know - or even know, at times. Their blood relation to me makes them no exception.

I call for them then. It is a low, almost guttural howl that resonates across the plains and echoes throughout the forest. It calls only for them, though I know only one by name. Nonetheless, I do not particularly mind who takes it upon themselves to arrive. It is just as much an opportunity to learn more about the pack, after all. But for now, I expect only the two young female's. And I wait, as patiently as I can.
