News 08.08.2021
Change was long overdue in Spirane. Now that I have learned who is still an active presence within the pack, the ranks have been updated. As I once took time away from the pack, so too now shall Kalseru. Know that she is still second in command of the pack, as is reflected in her rank. Once you are familiar with the new ranking system, if you would like to change positions or move up in the ranks you need only ask. Let this be a time of new life in Spirane, and a promise of great things to come!

When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies, but the pack survives.

HUNTER AND PREY

The way that Arthfael grinned when speaking about his sister clued Viserion in on the dynamics of their relationship without ever seeing them together. While he might act as though his sister irritated him from time to time - getting to come stay in Spirane when he didn't, and quite probably bragging about it when she got home - it was plain to Viserion that he still cared deeply for his sibling. It was an interesting thing to think about, and compare against not only his own sibling relationships but also that of others he'd met - Embla and Bastille, Semele and Camilla, and now Arthfael and Ankh. His was a mind that was always churning with ideas, possibilities, explanations and more. The young prince chuckled at Arthfael's words about her making up her own story.

As they carried onwards, Viserion spoke of his dubious nature in regards to magic. But the response given was not one he had particularly anticipated. Once more the darker boy's mother was brought into the conversation, this time on account of the very real possibility that magic existed elsewhere in the world, beyond Moladion's borders. His mentioning of imprinting did have Viserion reconsidering his statement, for was that not in some ways a type of magic? He wasn't so sure, but as Arthfael stood tall and looked him directly in the eyes, Viserion felt compelled to reply. "I suppose that it is possible, but I will only believe necklaces can turn wolves invisible when I see it happen for myself." After all, if he could not see it with his eyes or touch it with his paws, how could it be proved to be real? Suddenly he found himself wondering over the reality of imprinting, or whether it was just something in a wolf's head.

Once more pushing the thoughts to the back of his mind for later reconsideration, Viserion mentioned a cave not far from where they were that he could show to his new friend. Arthfael seemed keen on the idea, and they loped off through the foothills, following the curvature of the base of the mountain. It did not take them long to reach the inset of trees that gave way to the cavern's mouth, and the duo trotted into the high ceilinged place. They slowed, walking along the edges of the creek until Arthfael moved to walk within it. Viserion hopped up onto the large stones that lay scattered along the banks. He hopped along them with practiced ease, for these were far easier to balance upon than some of the rocky trails high within the range. He glanced over at the form of his darker friend as he splashed through the shallows before stopping and looking down at something. Golden orbs traced his line of vision until he spotted the movement of tiny fish below the surface. Arthfael's speculation on cave fish made his head tilt to the side, for he hadn't actually ever seen a cave fish. "I guess there's only one way to find out." He hopped down from the rocks as Arthfael emerged from the creek, leaving wet paw prints in his wake along the stone surface.

Together they moved deeper into the cave, where it steadily grew darker, though it was still slightly illuminated. They followed the creek bed, though it ran in a rather straight line, only cricking this way and that every so often, but always headed in the same direction - deeper into the cave. Viserion glanced over at Arthfael as he stopped to sniff at some mushrooms, his curiosity about the boy's mother unabated. He ran through every wolf his mother had ever told him about, and could not figure out who she was. None of them fit the profile. So there was only one way left to figure out. "So, who is your mom?" It might have been a bit random and seemed delayed by way of their conversation, but Viserion had never stopped thinking about that matter since first it had been brought up.
