With the grace of a desert wind Peets accepted the carrot from Whimsy and hurried her on to Calvin frustrated head toss in his direction. Men needed womenfolk to tell them how to behave in all species, obviously. Calvin no longer seemed to be listening to Peets, so maybe Whimsy would have better luck. The black Arabian hoped he would find the direction he so desperately needed. If this failed she could always drag him away by the short curly hair at the back of his neck. After all, he was only around a hundred and forty pounds or so. Peets made herself be calm and graze, letting the two speak of fairy things.

"Whimsy!" Calvin hugged the little fairy, but pouted when she scolded at him, sitting back down with his mug and taking another drink. "Women? Why would I sing about them?" he asked in confusion, and then he brightened, "You're a girl! I could sing about you! There is a fairy, Whimsy, she's a..." Either Calvin didn't know what he wanted to say, he had common sense, or he didn't know what to rhyme with Whimsy. It probably had to do with the fact he was a natural singer, not a natural writer. "Half-dead people?" Calvin added in surprise. Hic, "I don't know any half-dead people."

Calvin ran his hand through his hair in contemplation and then held up the shirt. It was a lovely shade and kept his budding wings in mind, fastening at the nape of the neck, but with a slit down the back. He pulled it on, first shoving one arm into a sleeve, then the other, lifting his wings so that they could more easily fit through the space provided. Struggling a bit he buttoned up the front, not noticing until he got to the top buttons that he had done it up one button off. It took him another couple tries to get it right. Its green, like the green of his skin, looked great against his dark brownish black curls.

"Aw, thank you," Calvin said warmly. He wasn't really sure what he thought about the shirt, but it was clear she had made a genuine effort and made a great deal of progress in her studies. He sighed and would have rolled his eyes at her statement, though, if it weren't too much effort, He wasn't as quiet as he could have been, but considering most people had already given him space it wasn't likely that anyone had heard him.

"Singing is a hobby and a profession?" there was some surprise and interest as Calvin said it, though the last word was a bit slurred. That could actually be something he enjoyed. He looked at his empty mug of beer, though, and doubted very much he would like it as much as this. He had never had so many free beers sent his way before just for singing along with people. It was quite the trove. "I guess I could give it a try," he said dubiously. "I guess your schooling is coming along okay, then?" Calvin inquired politely and with noisome closeness as he leaned in to Whimsy.
