Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

Her family was twice rent from her fate-cloth and she took her catch with all speed to the place where she now hid from the rest of the world that would try and make her a part of them too. All that she became one with, all that she seeded her cares into, was burned up by death, by sickness, by distance and forgetfulness. There was nothing to be salvaged, that she knew, and it meant she grew more and more wild away from the civilized world.

She bit, she snarled, and acted all manner of feral. She hunted her days to dusks and the slept dusks to dawns to repeat the process. She was daughter of freedom no more, but she would ever be daughter of the wind and flat plains of moladion. Wild, if not Free.

This means that initially, upon hearing eager steps, she buries herself into the dark mouth of the small cave even more. She tucks her catch, a pheasant and a young goose, behind her lithe figure and set her face, full of answering teeth if it came to it, towards the entry to her little hovel-home. It is only the voice that follows the cessation of steps that gives her pause - makes her rethink her preemptive lunge from out of this makeshift den. “Aurai? Come out, please, tell me I'm not dreaming.”

Her name. Aurai… yes, Aurai. Aurai, daughter of Asteraia, loved child of Iblis and Rhae. Aurai, and that was Viserys. Brother, but not. Healer, friend, sweet, kind, too kind and too good. Forever wounded, Viserys.

She creeps to the mouth of the den, her beautiful pale face now far more grown than he could have imagined and eyes marked more lovely than her youth might have suggested. “Vissy?” The reply is soft, eager but distrusting, but her eyes tell anyone who could see them that she knew his face the instant he was in view. “Viserys? What are you doing all the way out here? Why didn’t you go to Taviora?”

She sounds appalled, righteously indignant, horrified that he, with his condition, would allow himself to be wandering the ins and outs of Moladion. “Come inside,” she says now in a very low voice and with a sharp tone, “before someone catches us...”
