I came because I could smell the mountains on her and the mountains, of course, spoke of home. Well, maybe not the home I was looking for all these years but the home to which I was born. For a moment I even held faint hope that it would be my Mother who had come to visit today and yet as the amber gold of my eyes sifted between the trees it become clear that the dark wolfess was most assuredly not my dam, Niviaq. I paused a moment, watching her, before my long limbs carried me forward. Sure, my legs were long for my body, but I was hardly tall, smaller even the my Father Pan, smaller then this black female though at least I had a bit of weight on her and maybe that gave me a little confidence as a male. I didn’t know her though, of that I was sure, the closer my earthen and gold tipped form came the more I realised that she was, well, kinda old, not ancient by any means, younger then my own Alphas to be sure and yet she was hardly in the prime of her years either. It didn’t matter I suppose, I was merely curious all the same. It hardly took too long to lope across the fields and towards the small rise she had situated herself on in some vague attempt to gather a view of the pack I suppose. It wasn’t an ideal location but then again it was hardly my concern as to why, she wasn’t trying to hide or sneak and as such I saw no need to stop her- earthen form cresting the rise a few moments later to pause to the side of her.
“Can I help you?”
Well, what else was I going to ask? Ears pricked forward in anticipation of some kind of response, or at least a question of some sort, remaining outside her space all the same. After all, there was no need to crowd her, though my own head and tail remained lifted slightly. These were my lands after all, my home to defend and she was upon the outskirts of them. For the most part however, my form remained wholly neutral, soft, an easy grin spread across my lips in good nature. After all, she could either speak with me, or I could bring one of the Alphas and well really I am not sure whether Tobias or Mistress will reach us first and honestly I don’t really know what to do if it is Tobias who comes. I’m not being critical though, after all, he had defeated Jaidah in single combat and at more then twice her age! That was something. I respect that and really, he is a good defender of our lands, that much cannot be argued. Mistress does all the thinking and he does all the…I dunno…bashing I guess and really they do make a good pair, along with Lady Flare whom seems obsessed with collecting puppies. I’m not even sure they are all her’s. I think some might belong to Tobias and Mistress, Lonhro said as much- I think he did anyone, he doesn’t talk all that well he kinda just shouts things that don’t make sense although……I get a feeling about him and it’s not an overly good one. There really is something about that boy. Maybe it didn’t matter.
“I’m Galileo, son of Pan and Niviaq, welcome to Asteraia I suppose, are you staying?”
Well maybe she was emigrating from the mountains like I had, maybe she was here just to talk. I had been charged with making an ally out of the mountains and really, why not start now? It might save me having to walk all the way there.
