Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

“Sila! Sila!”

The small gold and earthen boys voice echoes out across the near empty field, the oncoming storm seeming to have chased away anyone else who might have been out that day as his emerald eyes scan the field. He had been walking for hours now and he had become quite fed up with this ridiculous charade. Sila was missing, he is sure, his parents having failed to show the appropriate level of concern. Perhaps they would have, had they actually been aware of their daughters absence and yet truly only Rhett had seemed concerned, telling them she had wandered down the side of the mountain and not into the centre of the pack as they seemed assured. It didn’t matter. He had gone to retrieve her himself, he would bring her back, be appropriately praised and then perhaps he could return to having a peaceful evening. He was…unusual for a child perhaps, oddly serious and yet oddly critical of those around him all the same- often for attributes they could not change, though he himself was perhaps not wholly egotistical. He was simply unusual in more ways than one. Determined, perhaps, was the most efficient of words to describe him and in this moment his young mind held singular purpose and focus. Locating his missing sibling. The journey so far had been longer then he anticipated and yet for now at least he ceased to offer any further compliments- though he was sure to give his sister an earful upon her discovery. Rhett was, if anything, perhaps a little outspoken. His clever mind often given to supersede those around him and offer the boy a keen, if not sarcastic wit.

He preferred his brother, of all his siblings and yet that hardly meant he offered no loyalty to his sisters- even if he went to lengths to leave them out of his games with Sogne and himself. Girls had their games and boys had their’s- of that he is sure. Small paws carry the growing, gangly puppy further and further from the mountain, the boy already taller and larger than any of his siblings, destined to be the one and only child of Pan and Niviaq to actually achieve a decent weight and height- his other siblings, even those older then himself, rather doomed to be short their entire lives. Though for now such information remained undiscovered. The golden boy with the strange chocolate eyebrows lops further onward, calling again for his sister, wondering if his parents had noticed the both of them missing by now. It wouldn’t be so bad, he thinks, to have Pan or Niviaq carry him back. His legs were getting tired, the sky was growing dark with the promise of rain and the wind beginning to pick up all the more until it ruffled his fur and he was forced to shut his eyes against it- muttering beneath his breath in disdain.
