It had been a long time since Gaia had seen the beauty of the Moladion autumn. Her journey had taken her far away from her birth place, but she knew she would return one day. Her first stop was going to be the plains where she hoped to see her parents, but something caught her eye that prevented her from going there just yet. A lone wolf, older in appearance, moved with her tail tucked firmly in-between her back legs towards the crags. Bi-colored eyes watched the loner for a long while as the girl thought of what to do. She seemed rather frazzled and from the scent being brought towards her, she was a wolf of the ocean pack. What was she doing all the way out here and, most importantly, who was she running from?
Part of her wanted to just forget what she saw and run as fast as she could to her parents, but the other half knew something was wrong. What if the stranger needed help? Gaia knew she couldn’t just this go. If she could help in any way, she was going to try. With a sigh, the copper colored wolfess carefully moved down the hill where she had been standing. Her bowed back legs ached a little from the long day’s travel, but the muscles had built up a lot over the past few years and she hardly noticed anymore. For the first time in her life, she didn’t feel useless due to her disability. Not wanting to spook the obviously frightened wolf, Gaia held back until she had disappeared into the caves. Only then did she move from her hiding spot to follow.
The cave was dark and musty, but surprisingly warmer than it was outside. The wind had a bite that herald the cold of winter. Her fur had grown much thicker as the air turn frigid but the chill still got to her. As her claws clacked on the cave floor, she cocked her ears forward to hear where the woman had gone. There was something shuffling back there and when her eyes had adjusted to the darkness, Gaia moved to stand in front of the entrance to the smaller tunnel where the wolfess had gone. Knowing better than to enter, the younger girl laid down and allowed her tail a soft wag and a kind whimper to leave her mouth.
After a moment, she smiled and said gently, "Hello, My Lady. I am not your enemy and mean you no harm. If you want, I can help you. I’m Gaia. Who are you?”
