Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

I am consumed. The dance burrows me into the moment and keeps me there, keeps me among these two who dance with me. There is nothing sweeter, I think, than the togetherness that comes from this dancing for nature. And part of me, some small part of me, thinks that perhaps it is dancing with these two in particular. The male, drawing upon my physical being, the white female pulling at my mind - it is fanciful thinking (but she does not realize the accuracy of what those thoughts bring about).

High, low, spun round and over, I dance with the whole of my being. All of me, just as they use all of themselves, and for a moment I am neither timid nor secretive in who and what I am. I do not need to hide when there is so much good, when there is so much right, when there is such a freeness of body and spirit. It feels like nothing in the world she had ever experienced, that freeness. It is addicting, it’s enticing in a way that is unusual for the little wolfess.

I am so overcome that I cannot help but let up a song, mid-dancing, celebrating the life in my lungs and heart. A song, a celebration, but it all must come to an end.

And then Natu is laid at our feet and I cannot do any less than to join her, to be a part of her, of us, for a little while longer. I scoop my body in beside and behind hers, head draping over her haunches as I snuggle into her soft fur and sigh deeply. “Are you not joining us,” I say looking up to the male who had started the dance, “Did we dance badly?”

I want the togetherness, just a little while longer.
